It's like they're slowly killing off Axial, by the way you're describing it ??

Axial has like 3 vehicles and the rest are just iterations of those...

Haxialcat fest 2019 anybody? Lol.

There are events all over the country. Pick one big or small. Go to it. Scale or not.

It wasn't hobbico fest before, it wont be horizon fest now.

Wine all you want, it is still the largest rc event in the country. 2500+ people attended last year.

Even though it's no longer Axialfest. I still Would Love to go. Who cares who's putting on the event? Doesn't everyone just wanna play with Tiny Trucks?

I for one Only want to go to axialfest going forward just to surround myself with those who enjoy or have a passion for the same thing we're all there for,

Community is one of my favorite parts of the RC world. Who doesn't want to go to one of the biggest RC gatherings there is?

Planning for it for sure. Weather it actually comes to fruition...I don't know, But the Want is there for Sure!

FWIW, it is still Axialfest with no plans of it ever not being Axialfest. "thumbsup"

So when is Vaterrafest?

Yeah, when is Losi fest? Or Worm fest? Lol. Jk.

When's Jatofest?

RCCrawler-fest???

How about "West Coast Nationals"? That is what the event was called before Axial hijacked it.

Axial really got started in the crawler world with the AX-10, perhaps it would be good for the company to streamline their offerings and concentrate on just making a couple of models really good, instead of producing lots of mediocre RCs. JMHO...

Amen!

Your right not much to promote but still weres the semi full of parts weres the races they used to do weres the track i mean we have expectations lol i know there having issues with the changes i can understand that but still losi realy get your own booth

No but seriously it just feels like there using axial to promote horizons other brand

Axial is now the red-headed stepchild. [shrug]

It's been adopted. We'll see where it goes.

I am pretty sure a big reason Horizon bought Hobbico was because of Axial. So I am not sure if categorizing it that way is 100% correct, but it is certain that Axial hasn’t really gotten the attention it needs from Horizon.

Semantics my friend. We'll see where it goes. ;-)

Im pretty sure we will never know why it was purchased.

However buying a competitor just to end them as being a competitor is just a common as buying them because you want their product.

Having two crawling brands doesn't make sense to me. You have twice the tooling costs(maintenance or otherwise), marketing and parts warehousing.

There is nothing the scx10II offers that the Ascender does not, nor the other was around. Both are slightly different versions of the same animal.

If I were to hazard a wild guess, we will see both around until it is time to update one of the platforms, then we will see them both slide away like the scx10 did.

We are once again at a point where both need an update to be a fresh new product to compete with the draw of the portal axle rigs.

Or more opportunities to sell parts and upgrades.

How many people own just one crawler? Pretty much everyone I know thats been into them for more than 6 months has at least 2 or 3.

Horizon know's what they're doing, they managed to keep losi relevant after the Losi's left.

I dont think Horizon bought Axial to kill it. The SCX10 II is a better design than the Ascender and Axial's brand carries more weight than Vaterra in this market. The majority of hobby shops I go into have at least one Axial on the shelf but I rarely see any Vaterras. Hopefully Horizon can streamline Axial's lineup so there are not so many different versions of the same damn thing...Why have 3 different transmissions and 2 different styles of axle housing going into 10.2s?

As for events, a lot of folks left Axial. That is a lot of experience to lose. Its going to be a little while before Horizon can handle the events the way Axial did. As long as Axialfest has gone on and how big it has gotten, I don't think they should abandon the name or concept. Anyone who wants to complain about it being non inclusive or make it some other event, how about you set it up yourself?

Only reason why the losi has survived is because the same people buy them. Thats what i think at least. I have at least 7 or 8 of them.

Axial fest wont go away. And there wont be another "fest" named after another rtr company.. I just dont see it happening.

Id like to see a losi fest though. It would be cool to see all the un recorded mods people have done since there isnt much aftermarket support.

I agree on the streamlining of the 10.2 rigs.

Better? Says who exactly?
I have both and I definitely would not say it's a 'better design'. More similar than different, but better? Uh, no.

And people can complain if they have something to complain about - doesn't mean they should do it themselves. It's actually a good way for things to be improved on. You know, input and feedback is a good thing.

Completely wrong...Unfortunately the previous management for Axial cancelled going to King of the Hammers. At the last minute we scrabbled to change that and attend KOH 2019. We couldn't get the space nor did we have the bandwidth to be there as big as we have in the past. It was a mad dash to make it happen, including buying a trailer for the event. That being said, we learned a ton and next year we will be able to do a much better job.

In regards to the Axial product, other than the kits (which i doubt anyone there would want to buy a kit to build in the desert), we had every current Axial product on display and for sale. Being that we are now under one umbrella, we were able to bring our Losi and ECX products that were all in slightly different price points and segments.

I just don't understand why everyone thinks Axial is doomed....for almost 2 years, Axial couldn't do anything....we have some much cool stuff in the pipeline that all this chatter will go away.

Hopefully i won't have to point this out again in the future. :ror::roll:

BTW, we had 7 Axial products, 3 ecx, and 8 Losi's (2 were 2wd SC trucks which nobody showed any interest in).

I've owned both. The AR44 axles are far superior, front end/steering geometry is better, driveshafts are better, more front weight bias, wheelbase changes are simple. That's design...Quality wise, Vaterra is better. The price is more reasonable for what you get, their plastics are better, the chassis is more rigid.

And I'm just saying complaining that a manufacturer puts on a manufacturer specific event is silly. That does only pertain to Axialfest IMO...Doing it at KOH was a little over the top for me.

BTW this is coming from a guy who drove a TRX-4 around at Axialfest.

ETA my experience with KOH was 2017 and 2018. I did not go this year.

Agreed. I skipped KOH too. And a club had a trailrun on Saturday after the main KOH event. Dayum.
When I saw it had grown to 50K spectators and was going to be 47/31n with wind and rain I bailed. LOL
We did that crap for years, no more. I can't fight the crowds anymore either.
