Panda Hobby Tera X1

anyway from the pictures, I'm not sure if there is any better than this in this size. I was searching for a thread talking about this car. I ordered one, should be here in the weekend. BTW, it's Tetra right lol

This is an excellent truck. For you guys that think $145 is a lot for a micro, consider the cost of a 1/18 Gelande 2 and how much money you have to spend and work you have to do to make it a decent crawler. The Tetra 1 is light years better than the Gelande 2 right out of the box.

Wow all these micros. This and the hobbyplus 1/18 are very interesting. Axial is great but not interested in worm gears.

The ‘dent’ adds character haha.

Not yet. If they keep the same time Between announcement and pre-order is should be in the next week or two roughly. I'll be sure to post as soon as I see pre-order

Worm gears don't look as real as ring & pinion, but none of the micro ring and pinions even come close to that much gear reduction. I forget, but I think it's twice as much reduction. Also for worm axles the axial are the best looking.

Ive been fiddling with the Tetra in my limited free time. I designed and printed a simple battery tray that moves the battery to a better position. I also made another one of my patented chain drive transmissions and mated it to a couple different gear motors. I ended up using an 050 motor with a 850RPM output planetary gearhead. On 3S it's a perfect crawling ratio. Also modified a heli tail rotor heat sink to clamp on the 050 because it gets pretty warm.

What was the reason for this mod, did it not have enough power with stock motor or gearing?

The stock motor and transmission had plenty of power and high voltage torque. I like to have more low voltage torque. I pretty much do this to all my trucks, big and small. I like to crawl, not hop around.

Just got one of these for my son and he loves it. Of course, he'd like more batteries to keep the fun going. Does anything need to be done to the ESC to run 2S LiPos? The instructions don't mention alternate batteries or anything.
