Looks better in1/10 scale! I was just wondering the other day if traxxas was going to do something new on the trx4 platform. Hope it's legit. It would make sense too.

I didn't want to buy a new Bronco but I got to have this new one its so beautiful and make it a four wheel steer...... bUZZZZZZZ........

Why didn't they do the two door version though? I kinda like the two door version in 1:1, 4 door not so much lol. I won't be picking this up, have 4 already and thinking 2 are gonna go get sold soon for a new build.

Couldn't agree more. I think it's a really good looking body, especially for lexan, but a 2 door would looked better IMO.
Maybe they just didn't want to engineer an "SWB" TRX4 (which would have been way more interesting than a new clipless body of any design) and went 4 door to keep it a "pro-scale" body.

I'm thinking you're probably right, I agree engineering a swb chassis for a 2 door Bronco may have swayed me. They did a good job just not my style as it is.

This one is 12.8” wb. Maybe they didn’t think the 2 door would scale out well on a 12.3”. The Newbright version is considerably shorter.

The price for this one is a hefty $549 MSRP. We’ll probably see them sell at $529. Not entirely sure what’s contributing to that much of an increase, no interior or LEDs included but I suppose the body is a bit more detailed than predecessors and has the clipless mounting. At $529 this would be $70-80 more than the old bronco. Maybe this one cost more to license.

I'm guessing they did the 4 door because the dimensions allowed them to use the 12.8 WB chassis they already have (Defender). If they went 2 door, they'd have to develop a new chassis much smaller then the 12.3 to make the proportions look right.

*Edit, looks like Topher had the same thought above.

I guarantee Ford raped them on licenses and such

At that price (vs. an "old" TRX) they could only persuade me to buy another TRX platform if they had developed a new SWB, IFS chassis.

I know, and I'm sure they know, IFS isn't everyone's cup of tea but I think that would have been much more persuasive on their "pro-scale" market. It would have been cool to see a new, more scale accurate, IFS RTR to compete with the Trail Runner.

I don't run my TRX with the expectation it'll be the ultimate rock performer. As long as they're using the "scale trail crawler" branding, they don't really any obligation to try and market it as the ultimate rock crawler either. Especially under their "Pro-Scale[emoji769]"

I really like this thing. May be a while, but I’m going to have to pick one up.
