1/7 scale Traxxas

Traxxas did the TRX-4 in kit form because the crawler world prefers kits. Look at Losi they didn't make a kit Baja Rey but did make a kit Rock Rey. The only kit TT is the Axial Yeti TT and I don't think it is a big seller.

Get's on her booty quit nicely. Very fast on 6S but most if not all should not run on 6S. Get's away from you quick and who drives 200ft away from you at full tilt anyhow.

Now i wanna see some turns for TQ roll, jumps, whoops and such. This teaser BS pisses me off. Definitely a BA little RC so far.

What kind of UDR video doesn't have jumps?! Come on! Huck that thing!

People who like fun maybe? :flipoff: Look, if your eyesight isn't the greatest, I get it. But 200ft isn't that far away for a go fast rig. I've driven all my 1/10 and 1/8 rigs further than that, and I've driven a 1/5 far enough that there was a delay between pulling the trigger and hearing the engine revs increase, similar to large scale planes. A 50mph go fast rig will cover 200ft in under 3 seconds.

To be fair, the video description says the BMX track that was supposed to be used was flooded.

That thing definitely hauls on 6S, wonder if it can do more than go straight that fast.

I missed that note.

Turning at that speed is going to roll pretty much any off-road RC on a high-traction surface like grass. I think 6S is overkill in any RC, but that's just me.

It's a scale trophy truck, their purpose is to go pretty much straight for a 1000 miles as fast as they can and absorb huge bumps on the way.

If you think it is going to turn like a SCT you are going to be very disappointed. It may or may not jump fairly well. My Baja Rey jumps good on 2s but my Yeti TT is a lot more challenging to get to jump well.

Clearly its going to flip if you crank the wheel at full speed but it is still going to have to have some handling ability at speed if they want people to keep buying them a few months after release. Going as fast as you can in a straight line gets boring quickly, no matter how good you look while doing it.

In all likelihood it will corner just like a Yeti Score or a Baja Rey; with lots of weight transfer, body roll and drama. Personally I wouldn't have it any other way, it's my favorite thing about trophy trucks.

What this guy said.

I never said it wasn't going to handle. I only said it wasn't going to handle like a SCT. Most people that buy one of these (Baja Rey, Yeti TT, etc.) are coming from a SCT or something with IRS (because a scale TT in RC is a recent development). I can't count the number of people that posted after they got one that it handled like crap compared to their "insert favorite SCT here".

Yep, lots of things are better on 6s. And for the record, this is the first time I've ever seen a group of dudes claim that something has too much power. You're still in charge with the trigger finger after all, and with modern radios (you're not gonna keep the stock POS radio for this, ARE YOU?), you can tune so many things to where 6s is not only very driveable, but actually practical for those moments where you need just a bit more than 4s can provide. In a rig this size and weight, I think 6s will be where it's at. My E Revo was fine around the house on 4s, more than enough actually, but in bigger open areas 6s was shit tons of fun. And I never had any diff issues either. Then again, I never did standing back flips, not even once. Anyone with a modicum of mechanical ability knows that can't be good on the entire drive line.

Most notable for me is the subject of jumping.

Numerous threads here and elsewhere about how the yeti score and baja rey nose-dive off of jumps, and the struggles to 'fix' the suspension, with few understanding/admitting that the problem is that these trucks' trailing arm suspension is not good for jumping.

It is my impression that many bought for reasons of scale appearance, but then were disappointed that even though the score (or baja rey) looked like an SCT, it didn't jump like an SCT.

I expect the same to happen with this truck.

im gonna wait for udr to come in kit form.. traxxas just did it for the trx4.. too bad the radio equipment is included. i like using one radio for all my cars. im weird, right handed radios throw me off. gotta have the steering wheel in my left fingers lol..
I don't see the UDR getting a kit. Traxxas made a kit because lots of scale crawlers are builders as well. The market is there. At the end of the day the UDR is a basher and most bashers don't like building.

planes, helis, and EDFs fall under RCs.
they definatly require 6S and more depending on size"thumbsup"
True. I don't fly. Althought I have started dabbling in drones.

its going to handle like a 1/7 scale trophy truck.

which is perfect.
Agreed as long as it also jumps well. Too many of the current wannabe trophy trucks jump like shit.

its mostly because people dont tune them. the rear suspension are typically way to soft from the factory, and bottom out. my yeti did this. common sense would tell ya if its flying ass high to soften the rear springs for less rebound right?
did some slow mo recording to find out the opposite. rear was fully compressing on bug jumps, bottoming out and then donkey kicking the rear up.
