This is an article on how to make Losi's new 1.9 Mini Rock Crawler wheels into a beadlock.

First I started with Losi's new 1.9 MRC wheels in Black on Black retail $8.99

After looking through my pile of discarded wheel cutoffs I found these which are 2.2 duratrax wheels and are 3/4" wide.

The next step is to remove all the screws for the Faux beadlock rings. The nice thing about these new Losi wheels is the amount of material around the hex

Install the cut 2.2 wheel piece into the 1.9 tire. Here you can see how the 2.2 piece fits over the 1.9 wheel

Then bolt the now actual beadlock rings on and you have a beadlock 1.9 wheelset for under $20 and they look scale. I used brand new RC4WD 1.9 Rock Crushers to finsih the super scale look

I'll take a few pics tomorrow. It works just like the AE 3 piece wheels or if you are into 1:1 wheeling H1 wheels. The "inner" piece holds the bead from the inside while the beadlock rings hold the outside. Pinching the tires bead in between the "inner" ring & "outer" ring. Sorry the pics aren't great, it's hard to get good close up pics of small parts.

so you could probably not even use a cut up wheel from a 2.2 maybe you could just use a piece of 2" abs drain pipe just like the drifters do..

i would like to see more pics of how it exactly locks the bead in and how it looks on your rig too. id much rather spend $ in this than a bunch on some other ones.

Should work a little like the old Associated beadlocks from about 10 years ago. The "ring" will allow for a place that the inside of the tire bead to seat against when the lock plate is bolted down tight. It's really simple and would even work without having to adheare those rings to the wheels"thumbsup"

i think i understand now. i think that i'll use these for my starter and spare tires but eventually upgrade to a $100 set. thanks for the explanation.

Just like the RC10 wheels, exactly. But without the rings bolted to the wheels it wouldn't at all. Did I read that correctly?

Good pictures so you can actually see what your doing would actually make this an article.

how wide should i be cutting the inner wheel or pvc that slides on the outside of the losi wheel?

I posted this to help some people out, hopefully it's done so, but I'm not going to bother answering a question, when the answer is in the thread. Read the article, it's in there.

I do apologize for the blurry images. I'll try to take some more.
