1950 Chev Panel Truck

No updates, I might have a few trinkets to add a little later. I need to get a winch yet and some scale things. Trying to build a trailer but not sure if that's gonna work out."thumbsup"

Man i cant believe i missed this thread...

Super...didnt know you were using a panel wagon body...looks great on your crawler. I used mine on a RC10GT but heck...i might have to reconsider using one on a crawler....milk truck crawling sounds good!!!

Good progress on your build..."thumbsup"

I have a rc4wd two speed tranny as well but its still in the box...I have yet to install it...

you making me want to get back to wrenching on the crawlers.

GOOD WORK!!!"thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"

Thanks man, I was gonna send you some pix of it but every time I was gonna I had problems and then kinda gave up. :ror:
Once you use that 2 speed you'll never wanna go back, I love that thing. Got 2 already."thumbsup"

Sand them to the bare metal in some spots, let them set in some salt water for a couple hours (make it real salty)don't dry them off. Then put them outside for 2-3 days."thumbsup"

That's what I did, except for the putting them outside part. It's middle of winter and there is less than no humidity right now. If you look close you can see a big spot where I sanded it down to metal.

I boiled in about 3 table spoons of salt in about a pint of water, you think I should have used more? I don't know what else to try.

Maybe I'll take them apart again and try again.

The more salt the better...I took my summit to the beach when it was new....I mean still had some Styrofoam balls on it new.I ran it for like 20 min. rinsed it off with the sea side shower and took it up to my room and set it on the balcony to dry.The next morning everything metal was rusted.

Great looking build Super!!"thumbsup" I've been out of the hobby for a couple years now...well kinda... I was still lurking on here every few months.;-) & I got my son a Son-uva-digger stampede for his Bday last April.

I just ordered a Rubicon kit, & a few things... So hopefully I can get it together by the time it finally warms up around here...
