1950 Chev Panel Truck

It's getting cold out now so It's time to start a winter project. I thought I would try something different, something I haven't seen much of yet.

I started with a Dingo kit and made a few minor changes..

Moved the electronics box and battery tray.











Put the HH ESC up front and made a servo mount.














Body came in the mail today so I started to fit it and build the links.











I need to come up with a bumper that is gonna fit the era to keep it looking fairly stock. Any ideas are very welcome."thumbsup"

I'd been thinking of doing a build on a Trail Stomper with this body but then the Stomper went out of stock.

Thanks, as far as paint goes, I'm gonna "try" to give it the 'ol rusted look, try.:roll:
I saw Jwalkers paint on the rat rod he is doing and fell in love. I'm not sure I'm going as elaborate as he did but we'll see what happens.:mrgreen:

That's what I was thinking"thumbsup", but I want to incorporate a winch too with some sort of brush guard. I've been searching the web but I haven't found what I'm looking for yet.

Well, this is what I came up with for body mounting. Seems to work ok, but we will see how long it lasts. These are really strong magnets, hopefully not too strong.

Push the bumper out a bit like the old WWII military trucks.

Around 10.5 - 10.75". It's pretty short.

No, it's a 1/10 scale body. I wish I could get 11" out of it but I think all I will get is 10.5".

How many layers of paint will you be doing.
I saw this really cool body on an SCX10 Honcho which had silver on the inside of the body and bronze and brown layer on the outside followed by the chosen outer (final) colour.
It looked great once the body had been sratched up on the rocks cause it looked like under the outer layer there was rust and once that scratched through, bare metal.
I though you could do something like this and have the outer coat matte black or gunmetal grey and then sand it back to the rust.
Then a bit of weathering and you'd have a great paint job.
