Did a little more work. I came up with a set of bumpers that I think I like...

















I don't think this is the winch I am going to use but you get the idea.






I gotta do some trimming on the ends yet and I'm not sure if I am going to paint them or not???

The way you mounted the battery tray looks very clean. Did you modify the OEM mounts to attach the plate to the frame rails or did you source them from somewhere else? I am looking to do the same relocation.

I think it would look good if you sunk the winch down, into the bumper. Also, istead of the the type of a 'roller' style fairlead, I think one which is just cast would look better. I love the bumper and am checking this thread 24/7 (well it feels like it) to see if there has been any updates (especially to do with the paint)!!!! I also think end caps on the bumpers could be a good idea. And what colour is the bumper going to be? I reckon clear would look great.

I just used the servo mounts that came in the kit. Didn't even have to drill any holes in the plate, just in the frame rail.

I can't sink it into the bumper because of the way the mounts are, but that would look way cooler. I'm not sure what winch I am putting on there yet. I just threw that one on there for the picture.

I'm debating on leaving them bare, lightly painting them or just clearing them. I'm leaning towards lightly painting them and letting the elements have there way with them.

Yeah, I've already been advised the paint scheme I want is going to be a bit ambitious. And there's just really not much else left to do but the paint. I've hid from mine for as long as I can. Luckily for you, it looks like you got a few things you can tackle before your day of reckoning.

That wheelbase is SHORT! I don't even think my CUCV's (Blazer) is that short.
Guess we know who's going down steep inclines first!

Another way you could go which think'd be cool would be tomount the winch on the chassis and have it come through a hole in the body andthen though a fairlead. That way it'd look 'uncluttered'.
And are lights and interior going to be a happening thing? I sure hope they are

Lights, absolutely! I put lights on all my trucks. This one won't have a lot but it will have lights.
I wasn't planning on doing an interior, but you never know. It won't be a scratch built interior. I'm not a wizard with styrene.:mrgreen:

Cool, um, what sort of lights are you going for? I hope you've got at least headlights and reckon a full width light bar across the top'd look great.
Oh, and will there be a roof rack?

Oh man, this was gonna be a simple trail truck build and you keep throwing all these ideas my way and making me think.8)

I was gonna keep the lights down to a minimum, head lights and a tail light, like stock old school. I don't think I am gonna do a roof rack but I might build an old crappy trailer to go with the truck. We'll see what happens."thumbsup"

There is a two speed Trans planned. As for tires, either the black eight holers that are in the pictures or my wagon wheels. I'm leaning towards eight hole and flat irons.
