4PK Setups, Tips, Tricks and Help

Here is the response I got from John in his thread;

Sounds like the radio needs the neutral points adjusted, and the ESCs need the throttle points reprogrammed.

Timing won't make that much of a difference. It would only affect the wheelspeeds.

I had my buddy recalibrate the throttle settings on both of his esc's today and it didnt change anything.

BFGcrawler418;

I was just about to post up the same thing. Didn't think about the motor timing, as mine are setup a little different. Edit, just saw HH's response.
I am running two MM Pros. I have noticed the two esc lights are not blinking in unison, they are like 1/50 of a second different. I recalibrated them twice.

My rear motor is wanting to spin first. I tried dialing some out with the TH and CH3 sub trims but the rear was still hitting first.
I can always dial the rear down 5-10% with the mixing and it kinda fixes it but then the fronts pull ever so slightly more than the rear then, even at 5% dialed down.

Edit, it was a motor timing issue. My front motor had moved to negative timing. JRH fixed it on the spot at ECC.

Sounds like you didn't calibrate your throttle positions.

Would I do that on the esc or the 4pk. Thanks mate

You have to sync the radio's throttle to the ESC's just like you are supposed to with every ESC after you first install it. With the FXR's you do them both at the same time following the Tekin instructions (with the exception that you will probably have to do reverse first instead of forward).

I've done a search in here but I didn't find it but I'm pretty sure it is in here so I am sorry for that.

I set up my 4PKS to the guide you have for the super that uses the 4PK. With the S I have the 4ws mixing as well as the mixing menu that I have followed based on your video. How do I set that up easily or is it even worth it to try?

Now in the correct thread....4pks on a 4ws scaler.....winch on channel 4, rear steer on channel 3......I run winch and rear steer turns at the same time....P-mix's are both on INH (OFF). I reset the model data twice with no luck.....What could it be?

OK, the channels 3 and 4 only affect each other when the rear steer is on. So if the rear steer is not selected (option #1) Then I can run the winch without moving the rear servo. Maybe a glitch in the system?

I'll look into this Pappy. I am still running my 4PK non-S. Maybe I need to have a new one sent and swap out since more and more guys are asking these types of questions.

Thanks...This is probably able to be corrected, so let me know what you find out. Very much appreciated!!!"thumbsup"

603FF and 603FS are the cheapest, about $20 less than a regular 4ch reciever is all though. There are no 2ch RX's available for this radio.

Ummm....so, a week or so ago, you stated you couldn't run a 4ch RX on a 3PM-x (I believe) but you can run a 3ch RX on a 4PK....why?????

Not bitchin, just asking.8)
