4x4 Power Wagon Pull Truck

The hitch is mounted just in front of the axle so when you are pulling the sled is getting heavier it is putting the weight more in the center of the truck then the end of the truck. (Example) Goose neck hitch can pull more then a bumper hitch. Also the hitch is adjustable becuse the hitch has a max height and so when you change tires you can stay at that height. I hope that answerd your question "thumbsup"

Updates i have a new chassis coming "thumbsup" the one i have now work better for a scaler not a puller :-(. The one i have coming is more of a puller chassis and a lot better weight rack and set up when it comes in ill post pics

Are you going to keep the mamba brushless in it? Doesn't seem like it would have the power for pulling? Speed yea. Why not a 5 or 7T HH Puller?
 
I use to pull in the mid to late 80's and would like to give you a few pointers. Put your hitch just above the centerline of your rear axle..unless there is a height limit..shave those tires, I used lunch box tires and worked pretty well...also double think not using that 3 speed tranny...pulled against a guy that I had a hard time beating and he had the 3 speed tranny. infact I only beat him a couple of times...and its cause he had a melt down.

also, speed can be your friend, need to get the wheels spinning and keep them spinning...seems odd, but spinning your tires means traction..

good lookin frame..I like the first one better...was set up nice.
 
If the plan is to run this in the 4wd driveshaft class of the NR/CTPA (National Radio Control Truck Pulling Assoc.) then the hitch is limited to a max of 2". Currently the motors are limited to econo modifieds (ie. brushed Speed Gem or sim) Shifting trans are not allowed.
For dirt pulling, wheel speed is needed. Mamba 5700 motors are being used in alot of trucks in classes that they are allowed.
Typical 540 crawler motors does not produce the power needed to do competition pulling. High turn motors are low RPM, low current which means low wattage/horsepower. (750 watts is about 1 horsepower)
I don't know the ratings on the HH motors so I'm not sure how those would work.

think you might not like those drive shaft angles. probably not gonna blow the MIPs but any binding is gonna cause problems, i would drop that tranny down some to help. the first chassis was much better in my opinion.

I grew up with a 1:1 4wd puller next door, its the only thing that I go to see at the fairs around here. just listening to them fire up and see the raw power tends to give me ...... anyway.

Ive built a few pullers in the past, seeing this one gives me the itch to do another. Great start, hope you get to do some real pulling with it.

Just fyi also if your still looking for a narrow rear end you could swap to a TLT axle or semi axle and use a Hi Lift for the front. they are almost a half inch width difference between the two.
