84 Chevy Mud Bogger

holy just a little jacked up on that chevy and twin motors, crazy.
Seriously though. Good looking truck."thumbsup" Also From my experience..Any bogger looking tire should work good in the mud, I find that wheel speed is crucial.
How do you have the leafs mounted to the axles? Sorry if I missed it in the thread.
Ok so speaking of wheel speed i'm going to be running the killer transfer case and i just seen that rc4wd has came out with a 25:1 tranny would that work with the right motor? i don't want the thing to be slow but still have lots of torque.
The leafs just have one screw in them right now. i'm working on the u bolt system i just finnished carving off all the link mounts on the axles not much left to them now.
If you get slingers, try cutting every other tread, they work awesome that way.
do you have any pics of them carved up. i was thinking of doing this to them.

i would sand or cut the those ones off and cut new ones but i might run out of tread kinda hard to tell from pics maybe cut up the 2.2 like crawling cole said then i should have lots to play with

Well i got the grill done tonight and started on the drop bed i just got to put in the bed ribs or what ever there called. i kinda cheated and used the bottom of the old truck box and just extended it down.

heres a pic of the grill beside a original grill it looks way better i think.

Well i took me a little bit to find out how i was going to mount the leafs to an axial diff but i think i got it and looks like its going to hold up too. Although i had to hacked them down to bare bones no 4 links system is going on these anymore. Looks pretty scale too. also did a little more to the box.

cant wait to see more on this one!!!
I am a huge chevy fan.

Love the drop bed and what you have done so far with the axle.
looks wicked scale!

Thanks alot. I'm a big chevy fan too. I'm working on the front one now i have the leafs mounted just working on the stabilizers now they keep binding up on me should have them figuired out by the weekend.

when you put the shackles back on they should go backwards not forwards like you had earlier because when the leaf compresses it flattens out otherwise you will likely break some leafs

Well i finnally got my leafs mounted to my front axle After two trips to the lhs. I also put on a dual steering stabilizer shocks on. It start out with just the one but it just didn't look right.
anybody got any ideas on some shock boots?

It's been going kinda slow on the build until this weekend, finnally got some time to work on it and got lots done too. But now i'm back to bodywork until i get my transfer case and tranny.
Its my first time brazing but after a few test runs and keeping my bottles warm i got the hang of it and even tried some nuts.

Yep, Nice looking truck you got there!!!!!!! The slingers work best when cut like that in the pic above.

Thanks guys.
Those slingers look pretty good cut up like that and look like they could throw some mud.
I tore apart one of my cheapo drills today looking for a tranny and i think i may have something i just got to mod it to put a bigger motor on it should have it done tonight
