A Capra build by B-MOW

I recently picked up a 3Brothers Beekeeper and Yellow Jacket 2100kv during their last sale. This will be my first time running an outrunner motor. I thought it would be a good match for the LCG trans that I bought for the Capra.

A closer look at the LCG trans bolted to the delrin flat skid.

Axles and links attached to the skid. For now I’ll be using the stock links that came with the Capra.

Mounted the Beekeeper ESC and mini Radiolink R4FGM receiver to the back side of the battery tray.

One of the things I hated about working on the Capra was the tight spaces to mount the electronics. Got it all in, but it’s not pretty!

Bolted the cage to the skid. For now I’m going to run the stock Axial shocks. Surprisingly they are not leaking any fluid. They have been bolted into a rig that has been riding the shelf for 4 years and the spring cups are completely dry. Fingers crossed the fluid will say in there. It won’t hurt my feelings if they do leak. I’ll just replace them with a pair of Dravtech!😀

I’m really digging the new flat skid. Looks much better than the large hump of the stock skid.

Capra back together and panels installed. Big improvement over the stock dull black nylon cage.

Took it for a preliminary spin indoors over some test pillows. The lower center of gravity and lower gear speed is definitely noticeable. It’s so much easier to control at very slow speeds.

At some point over the last 4-5 years, I must have stolen the brass front portal weights. It seems like it does need some more forward weight, so I’ll have to get another set of brass portal covers ordered for it.
