Another bad RC4WD Experience ...

I recently bought 2 pairs of Rc4wd flashpoint tires. They were a little expensive for an 'unbranded' tire, but I liked the tread pattern.

Of the 4 that I ordered, one came out looking like this.
I sent an email to rc4wd requesting a replacement, etc. After 5 emails, I'm being told I have to wait weeks for them to slowboat 1 tire from china because they will not open a package from their warehouse in the US, or send a packaged pair.

This was after 2 days at room temp.

For those that will say to mount it and run it, even mounted it doesn't spin remotely true. It wobles by ~1/2in. I expected better from a set of $50 tires....

It reminds me of this for some reason:lmao:

They said they will replace the tires but you still bash them on the forum. Nice move."thumbsup"

They will ship 1 tire over from china, if they have 1 tire available, and that will take weeks. Rather than opening a set they have in the states, or just shipping a package of 2.

I only posted after they said that they decided to check with the china factory to see if they had one to slowboat over from china.
Would you wait 4+ weeks to use your new set of $50 tires?

I own 2 sets of rc4wd tires. 4 of the tires are misshapen like that. They even sent me two for replacement. Even one of the replacements is twisted like that. I will never buy tires from them again. Never.

Considering how many RC4WD products you post up on your facebook page, my guess is that you don't pay (or at least pay full price) for their products in exchange for the glowing endorsements you put out.

If I paid for a defective product, and was told that they had a replacement in stock but it was too much trouble to open a package to replace it, i'd be pissed. There's no reason they can't open a package, replace his tire, and add a single to the set they pulled from when it comes in.

I've got stuff from their china warehouse before if they have it it will take a week or less they use DHL express.

I'll third that.. I've had stuffed shipped DHL from china and it traveled faster than the USPS can move a few states

You sir, have made my day and I truly thank you for that.

You didn't state that in your first comment, if that's true....then that would warrant a valid bad experience."thumbsup"

go to the vendors site on here and message them directly from here they may be better to help you...you just got a bad apple..
Some thing new to ..I didn't know rc4wd was a china company...

My problem is this. Why are four of my eight rc4wd tires twisted, when all of my axials, prolines, pitbulls, duratrax are perfect? It annoys me tremendously.

Are you kidding me? The guy buys a product and is ready to use it, but he can't because it's made incorrectly. And now he has to wait another week or more for a replacement simply because RC4WD doesn't want to split open a package? That's piss poor customer service which is typical of RC4WD. If he had bought from Horizon Hobby, ProLine, Tower Hobbies, RPP Hobby, etc they would have shipped one out immediately.

Low quality products and horrible customer service is why I stopped buying from RC4WD.

I was missing a part from a recent towerhobbies order. It took 1 email and the part was shipped out. "thumbsup"

It just looks as if the blister pack and tire were sandwiched
in a pile of other stuff when it was shipped.
And ambient air/heat warmed them and caused some deformation to the beads.

Doesn't look like a total mold failure.

Bet I could correct it and install it without issue.

IMO $ 50. is chump change when it comes to purchasing RC crawler tires.

But bottom line...
I personally don't often purchase RC4WD products.
Because all their offerings are chinese made and the quality control
can be a hit or miss deal.

And tho' this tire's bead looks a little outta shape.
I'd think it's still useable.

Regarding their tires specifically...
I don't like the rubber compound they use to mold tires.
So I don't purchase them.

-----------------

Instead of just complaining about it...

Here's what I would do to attempt a correction.

Find a tube (PVC) of the proper diameter..
Insert that thru the beads stretching them slightly so they're taught.
Warm them with a heat gun or hair dryer. Let cool.

Remove the PVC tube... see if the bead is now more true.
then make an honest attempt to assemble.

If the tire is not seated on the wheel properly
or the foam inserts are not centered
it will be imbalanced.

More times then not... that can be the fault of the installer.

Duratrax tires don't have this isssue.

Dur-A-Trax.

You could send them all back and ask for a refund. If more people did that, it might get their attention.

I know it sucks if you really want that particular tire, but sometimes it's not worth the aggravation.
