Any houston guys?

Thanks Wes! My backyard is easy to get into with a truck or trailer. That was how I moved all that junk by myself. I then had one if my cheap Asian contractors throw up an iron gated fence since the wooden one was falling apart from my damn dog. Surprisingly his welds were pretty damn clean....but yeah give me a buzz anytime my office is literally 12-15 minutes from the house.

Wes,
The Crawler, U4, Scale scene is pretty bleak in Houston. You get the hint real quick when you walk into any of the RC Hobby stores in the Houston area. They have very few spare parts for these rigs compared to Bashers and Race RC's. I own a home in Pearland and I'm lucky enough to own a home in Austin also. So the majority of Rock Racing, Crawling I do is in Austin. Most of the MTB trails in the Houston area are good for crawling and scale trucks. You can look on ghorba.org for trail locations. Just be ready to get off the trail when you hear a bike coming or chance losing one of your rigs and/or injuring a biker. Good luck!

Our club holds regular comps and all are posted in this forum.

As for U4, well, as far as I know that takes a track and those dont just pop up without work/money from someone...."thumbsup"

Houstonian right here! I got into the crawling scene in Ohio and recently moved back home to good ol Texas. When do you guys meet up and crawl? And where?

I have a friend in the Waller area west of Houston. We can build just about anything we want. If anyone in the Katy or Cypress area is interested just post up. The ground is cleared and flat we have a large barn that we can use to set up tables for work space. We can also set up some crawler stuff in barn but it will need to be moveable so that the tractors can be park back inside after we are done. I have ordered heavy tarps to close in barn for winter.

Thanks Jeremy! I'm also having trouble finding a decent LHS. Would you happen to know of any around the pasadena/LA porte area?

I'm pretty new to all this so I probably won't be competing too much. Just looking for a group of guys that I can hang out with and gain knowledge. Plus my crawlers are in pieces right now due to incompletion :ror:

Welcome to the club! "thumbsup"

Welcome to the club...:ror:

You wouldn't happen to know the lengths I need for my suspension links to mount ar60 axles on a fastback 2 chassis, would you? It's driving me crazy not being able to test out my new chassis :ror:

I sure dont. But I see you asked in CHUD's thread. He designed and sells that chassis, so if anyone can help you, it'd be him. "thumbsup"

That's awesome that were gonna have a course nearby. I wanna help build it just for fun!

We have had a home course in the past but the land fell through after we got it set up.......twice. It will definitely be good to get it set up at a stable location."thumbsup"

I couldn't agree more. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of rigs you guys run. I was told that the crawling scene is pretty minimal around here so y'all make your own parts:shock:. That's something I could enjoy right there! See y'all at the next GTG(hopefully)!!!"thumbsup"

Went to the Pasadena comp spot today (Bay Area rc plane field), didn't see a rock course at all?!?

The concrete canyon/pine ridge spot is still there, a bit difficult to get to though.

Wes

Is that the plane field off of underwood and Pasadena Blvd?
