X2. Hard to beat a good grilled turkey"thumbsup"i'm not sure if it beats the turkey cooked on the grill.
I had some a couple years back when my cajun buddy came to visit from Louisana. Juiciest turkey I've ever had. Gonna pick up one of the fryers since everyone sells them now.
Hey Scattman, about how much peanut oil does it take to fry one or two?
It depends on the pot you are using. The safest thing to do is put your turkey in and fill it with water until it covers the bird. Then take the turkey out and measure how much water is in there. That way you won't have a boil over by putting too much oil in.
Also make sure the bird is TOTALLY thawed!!!!!

Yes, I said that twice for a reason!
I've done deep fried turkeys and they are tasty! If you are going to go through the trouble of doing one, you should do two or three.
If nothing else you may have to cook it a little longer to cook the stuffing through all the wayWhat if anything is different with stuffing for deep frying?
:lmao:"thumbsup"I fry them all the time, at least 3 times a month. Over the years I've learned a couple tricks. First, you want to lay down some cardboard on the kitchen floor because it really makes a mess. Next, fill the pot about 3/4 full with oil...you want it to overflow a bit when you put the turkey in. More oil=more juicy. Heat it up to about 390* and drop your frozen turkey in. Cook for about 3.5 minutes per pound and you're good to go. "thumbsup"
yup do i ever.
although, i'm not sure if it beats the turkey cooked on the grill.
