Anyone happy with the Losi?

Thanks to all that have repied with posative notes "thumbsup". Like the title says, "Anyone happy with the Losi?". I have had mine on order also for several months, and cann't wait for my LHS to open from the vactions they are on. I was sitting in his store the day before his vacation started but I was up at rig working.

So to make a long story a little shorter, I am still wanting my new LOSI. It will be a good crawler, and yes it might take some work, but that is what makes this hobby fun. If I didn't get to work on it to make it work better, then I would just get bored with it.

Also, thanks to all here on RCC that are helping the rest of us idiots be able to make this work better!!!:):)

THANKS LOSI, RICH, AND ALL THAT HELPED THIS COME TO REALITY.
This is cruel,,,,and I have a mental picture of a BUNCH of slobering ,wet, snotty dribble marks on the front window where you have been crushing your face against the storefront to look at your new crawler sitting on the shelf behind locked doors,,,,

Mine is # 770 and I'm not happy about the troubles we all have,,,I feel for Rich and the pressure he is under. I know he is a good person and is trying to get things straitened out,,,,I'm hoping Losi is the stand up company that some claim they are and does the right thing,,,
still VERY excited aobut getting my first crawler on the rocks and totally understand the "new truck haveing bugs to work out" problem,,,
as far as loose screws and lack of lube,,,coming from helicopters where ONE loose screw can put the whole ship in the ground I have ALWAYS gone over ANYTHING that is factory assembled,,,I thought everyone did this?
Be patient good things will come,,,,,

My truck is #414 and it has had little or no issues, since I caught cvd pin issue in time. I am thrilled about this truck!

My truck is #785 and fixed the cvd's, burned in the worm drives, and this thing kicks a$$ right out of the box! I'm running a LRP brushless crawler esc combo, hobbico servo, losi 3c liPo, and all I can say is WOW !!!!! Rich you guys did an awsome job!!!! "thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"

So what do ya mean zactly,,,, what did you do to "fix" the CVD problem? or do ya mean you just heard to limit the trun radius?.,,,,
-and can you share what size pinion you went witn?
-and how the wheel speed is?,,,
-cogging?

Limited the radius and loctight is a wonderful thing lol! I went with a 13 tooth pinion and the wheel speed is awesome no cogging IMO it's perfect at least for me!:D

Works great!!! Have tried 3 set ups---so far like jeffdude's the most.
1-55t, 12t, sidewinder, 3s lipo
2-goat crawler 18.5 system, 18t pinion, 2s lipo
3-LRP 21.5t system, 13pinion, 3s lipo

Now just think what it can do with the extra added touches!!!!

So far so good with mine. #320 or 312 I think... doesn't much matter to me. Greased everything, started break in last night, will finish it off later on today and then on to motor testing.

I'm not a fan of brushless so I have a selection of brushed motors I am going to try. Helps to have friends who are walking motor books and can advise me of what may or may not work for a given set of requirements I give them.

I had it out on the rocks today. I am very impressed by its performance. Once I get all the bugs worked out I think that I will be very pleased with it. It is definitely different than my Berg and Axial. There are trade offs in performance between the 3. I like the Axial for its efficiency (I get 1.5 hours out of a 1450 mah lipo). I like the Berg for its electric dig, Low COG and the clod stall, (45 mins out of the same battery) The Losi has the best slow speed control, and I like the hold of the mechanical DIG (I get 30 mins out of the same battery.)

My current set up is

Intergy 45t motor with a 13 tooth pinion

4S lipo
Sidewinder ESC
JR 8711 servo
Losi MRC dig servo.
I had to lock tite all the CVDs
and I added marine grease to the axials.

How can you not be happy with this rig? For $285 you can't touch that with anything else and have the features the Losi has. I have not have the problems a lot of other people are having and it's not b/c I'm babying it. I broke a 6mm CVD on my TLT rig. Take apart the axles and add grease to the worms. Check the CVD joints for binding (half of mine were rough) and clearance them as needed to free them up. Turn down the steering endpoints, Loctite everything and off you go! Rig #1496.

Remember just setting your end pionts wont keep the cvd from going into the "breakage zone" i wrapped electrical tape around my c-hub, some others have used thin spacers and super glued them to the c-hub. That first hole you get your crawler stuck in, and you will see what i mean.

ok guys, I'm not sure what I should do. I have a Holmes 45t p-94 and a sidewinder new in the box and am scared to put them in this thing. Am I going to fry this motor? This is my one and only rc so I have nothing else to do with this new hardware and really cant afford a new brushless setup. I'm still a noob with all of this stuff even though I have tried hard to do the research over the past few months. I bought the motor and esc with advice from as many of you pros as I could before the crawler was out so I would be ready when I did get it but realize knowone could anticipate the overheating problems. I just need advice i guess. thanks

Well can't say if it's a good combp or not,,,BUT I can say if you use it just keep checking the temps with your hand. If it get hot STOP befor you burn things up,,,,don't be afraid to try just proceed with caution "thumbsup"

Truck #650, update, I changing my status from liking this rig to totally loving this truck, despite losing the CV pin, and broken CVD(which Rich promptly sent replacements), this truck has been awesome. It took a beating on the weekend(flipped backward and tumbled at least 4ft into another rock) and still drove afterward.

People see the issues as problems, I see it as a chance to further understand my rig. I like to tinker with stuff and see how they work, so this to me is enjoyable. "thumbsup"

#573, love it.... Broke a cvd te first day..... Got the replacements..... Fixed it...... Broke another today.

Yes I did all the recomendations to avoid this but I just push my truck apparently to hard. Thats OK though, I have another thanks to Rich and his great customer service and while it runs on my BRUSHED motor, yes I said brushed it has done some really awsome climbs that I wasnt able to do before.

Runnin that Titan 550 with tremendous results!! Holy $hit, what a suprise this turned out to be, or fluke, either way I'm getting better motor results than I did in my Axial with an Integy 45t with a 14 tooth pinion.
