Anyone solve THE clod problem?

Hey, Kami... Might just be me.. But it may be to late to fix it. Might as well turn around and go home...:)

Best Clod Set up for No Clod Stall....

4 cell Lipo
Moped ESC
100t Motors
But once the Moped goes the whole truck goes up in Flames.

Dang clod stall, got me again..... only 3rd at nationals this year. Maybe I need one of them fancy bergler axles and sum of dem heli radios.

I'm a bit in the dark here but don't the guys who have one esc and switch dig (most of the new berg drivers) just use the rear dig position to get the back axle to drive out of a stall??

I'm one of the ppl with two fxr's and a DX7 but thats only because my stick has no place to mount a diga - ma - jig.

Congrats on 3rd

C'mon...we all know you already have a set of berg axles in the back of the truck that your just dying to break (out).

Sticks are good for chassis and radios, don't hate the sticks.

Whats your setup? I just built my first super and used "dem fancy Raptor2 axles" and they are geared really high. I was thinking 6t rear and 7t front pinions with 75t motors and 3s lipo on my Mamba Max. I don't wanna goto 2 ESC's and a stick controller like most people are telling me. I'm clueless and obviously some clodstall is good but mine is just weak. Any tips would be great as this is totally different than my 2.2.

I hope your not afraid to cut up those axles. If you wanna fit 6t pinions your going to have to do some trimming.

No worries on the trimming if I have to. If I can"t make them work and work well than they are useless. They look good but if they can't crawl well what is the point in using them? Any tips on how to make them perform better would be great and doing mods just makes it more fun anyway.

The can also be fixed by using the method on the front motor and adding a resistor inline but you will need to wire it so power will only flow thru one wire at a time with switching.

Thanks for reading.

Did that years ago, it actually worked really well. "thumbsup"
I used the series/parallel motor switch and ceramic resistor from the stock Clod kit. Later on I put it in the rear for use as front dig.

Everyone know the problem with clods is when your front or rear tires have more traction, the dual motors act like an open diff and the axle with the least traction spins freely. Sometimes this is an advantage, to me most of the time it is a hinderance. I spent a whole day changing setups, and tried to fix the problem, but anything I did didn't make a differecne. Has anyone figured out how to solve this problem?

Here's what I've tried.

1. Motors wired in parallel. Problem still exists.
2. Run dual superroosters, with one battery. Problem still exists.
3. Run dual superroosters, with dual batteries. Problem still exists.

None of these options even made a noticable difference, they all had the same results. I'm guessing it's just something we have to live with.

Have you tried wiring the motors in series?

there is a problem with clods? oh i thought the stall was there to help. my bad"thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"

umm???

very new only have an ax10
but cant you just run a more industrial esc with more cells and larger motors and just mod the clod axles ?:mrgreen:
IT would salve the problon and you could go faster and harder
oh and higher pinion

I use to race off rode xxx locie

4 clod axels

Hy folks
I think there is no good solution for the old clod Problem, not in this case:
MAN68.jpg

If one axle is in the air it turns trough and the others stand nearly still.
I´ve got 4 msc inside, 2x 12v Batts

slowly drive ->in series
batt - engine -engine- batt
batt - engine -engine- batt

fast drive ->parallel
batt- engine-batt
batt- engine-batt
batt- engine-batt
batt- engine-batt

the gears are clod stock

I´ve thought about switches at the axels. If one is in the air, it stops the according engine?
What do you think ?
