Apparently "Ultra" wasn't enough

Ok, you have had all day to get this prototype done. Let's see it."thumbsup"

Oh, I didn't tell you? It's the wife's birfday. I've got a nice dinner going in the crock pot, did the Target shopping then the mall for some jewelry, then home to do a little cleaning. I cut my toe nails too, I guess you could say I got a 'pedi'! Long gay story short, no prototype today. But I put in an order at RPP and Amazon, and even bought some tires at the LHS. I talked the guy down from $39 to $30 on the tires, so I feel pretty good about that. I got some Pro-line Swampers. Those are going on my RG wheels.

Hey Snickle, I a few DIG's here you can play with"thumbsup"

Don't be a tease, Ick.

Finally watched this rock race video.. looks awesome, and expensive. Can't see many rigs lasting more than one race before rebuilding. It also looks like if you guys went about 1/4 of your speed and didn't wipe out/get hung up so much you'd have much faster lap times. Still, it looks like a blast, I would love to organize something like that out my way.

@ snicklefritz, what battery are you using with your combo?

Just a Turnigy 3300 2s. 2s in the hopes of not breaking stuff needlessly. Also I didn't want to add needless weight. Even though I didn't use a 3s I still had throttle in reserve for 90% of the course, except the short straightaway.

It was awesome. I'm hooked, that's for sure. I'm with you as far as strategy. I wish I had some video of me on the track, there was nothing out of control about it. The whole time I had the wise words of my friend Shishcabobbers in my head, "Slow is fast. Slow is fast".

. We are always looking to add tracks to make regional and national events. We can provide you rules and specs on cars you just need to find a place build a track.

What if anything is Joe doing with the track at Vineland? That might be a good place to set up a U4RC track for next year.

I would also like to get more info on the rules and specs too.

Alrighty then, I'm going for it. I put the steering parts on the rear axle and cleared the chassis for the servo. Front axle is gone and I'm figuring out how this BMRC ifs kit goes together. Let's see how good I can eff this thing up! I need a beer!:lmao:

What controller are you using? I can see a pretty steep learning curve coming up, rear steer for crawling is one thing but at a race pace I can see you tying your fingers in knots trying to drive . I gotta see some video !

No doubt! Learning curve is correct. At least I'm not putting this thing together the night before the race again. I'll have a little time to try this out before the big show.

I'm using a Spektrum DX3c. It has the 3 position third channel, so I think it should suit my needs. I don't want full time 4ws but rather the ability to switch rear steer on only when I need it.

Time for some pics.

This is the stinkin link that ended my race last time.

Tearing down a perfectly good rig is not usually my style. But I did it anyway.

You have to drill three holes in the wraith skid plate to attach the BMRC lower plate.

Front axle gone, steering parts moved to rear axle. I decided move the knuckles, etc. over to the existing rear axle so I wouldn't have to turn around the diff. I have bad luck with the tiny screws on the diff cover so I figure the less I touch them, the better.

Wow. 13" is wide. SC wheels are sounding good right about now. I have some AKA wheels that aren't currently being used. They'll go with my next paint scheme, too.

I also decided to steal the Proline shocks off my slash. I guess I was in the stealing mood after I took the exo apart.

Here's the link from Blue Monkey
IFS Conversion for Wraith, Blue Monkey RC

Harley has a build thread in the Wraith section using this kit. His thread has some videos, too.

I like this kit because it looks clean and factory. You need to add an exo front end and 2wd slash bell cranks also.

I ordered these CVD's also. You can fit MIP's in but I thought they would be too bulky for U4RC.
BLITZ HD CVD for Exo - RCShortCourse
Others on here have used them for a wrexo so I thought I'd try em out.

Wow that's a nice looking kit, now I can't wait to see yours once it's done.

Ultra 4 RC for 2014 in Canada.. Lets do it!

I would LOVE to find use for my wraith as I find it so boring (it's way too capable) on the trails. I'll post on Socrawl and see who's interested (sorry for the thread Jack)

You can stuff your sorries in a sack, bro. That's what this thread is for, to spread the word! Hopefully you can get a track together because it'll be worth the work."thumbsup"

OK, let's talk about me again.:lmao: My build is stalled until I get the bell cranks in the mail, which is scheduled for Friday. I don't know why I didn't order it through RPP in the first place. If I had, it would be sitting on my porch right now with my new body, BMRC titanium links, and STRC caster blocks.
