Thought I'd post some pics of my new ARTR fresh outta the box. First thing I noticed is how stiff the stock springs are, they are the blue ones. You can see in one of the pics how it flexes, that's right before it lifted a tire. I apologize for the size of the pics, I didn't really have time to resize them all. FYI: I will be running a 65t lathe motor, FXR and a JR DS8711 with a CCBEC. Enjoy the pics.

Very nice!! Congrats!!!

My son is about half way through building our kit. We probably should have bought the ARTR but he's having fun with the build.

Awesome... I really like the orange. I don't have a problem with the green, but I like the orange a lot.

Are the stock springs too stiff? Does it appear to have enough travel/articulation?

Give us some pix of it on the rocks! "thumbsup"

Yes, in my opinion the stock springs are too stiff. Maybe they will soften over time, with a little bashing. I had planned on going semi-droop or full droop anyway. The suspension, minus the shocks, has great travel, probably too much. The shocks are the issue, I'll run them till finances catch up with my goals.

I got the thing at Mikes Hobby Shop here in Texas. Unfortunately they don't carry sh*t for crawlers. They had to order it and I wasn't very pleased with them. Not that they did a bad job, just didn't seem to be a nice/helpful as I would have liked. Anyway, I'm waiting on my CCBEC to put it all together and I'm trying to come up with a paint scheme for the rubicon body I wanna run on it.

I think the springs are too stiff. Did you notice any clearance issues withe the lower spring cups and the links? My brothers binded enough to pop them off the shaft, but turning the bend of the link inboard some helped. Otherwise, I'm tempted to get another for myself, I just can't justify it...

I have no binding issues. I'm still trying to locate all my electronics right now. I'm also going to be buying a few more things for it next week. So hopefully next Sunday I can be out on the rocks playing.

Got mine today, and it's already on the rocks.

I also already have about $120 racked up in the TCS shopping cart.

I thought about cannabilizing my tuber to get my ARTR going but I got a 1:1 Willys i'm working on and trying to get my 1:1 TJ steering fixed up for a wheeling trip next weekend so the crawler is having to take a back seat for a bit. Man I hate it when life gets in the way of my hobbies.

Congrats on getting it going. Post up what you think about it and what you are gonna change first.

Whoa your dog is really mellow around a rc. My dad goes crzy and barks sometimes attacking it. lol Nice rig i love that body and the orange links

That's because the truck isn't whipping across the grass. If I drive close to her, she will attack it and bite the tires.

So far I really do love the truck. I like the look of the Edge chassis so I will probably be buying that as well as some new batteries and the necessary items that go with the Edge chassis. I don't plan on competing with it, mainly cause there isn't any comps near me, so no major changes will be made.

Well I ended up cutting the tire foams today and it made a world of difference. I couldn't believe how much better the tires grip. I also tried it without the springs and didn't like the floppiness of it so I put them back on. "thumbsup"

I cant wait for mine to get here tomorrow, the anticipation of the build is killing me!

Thanks for posting pics to ease the wait time. :D

Good looking rig.

I see you are in Denton TX, we have local comps every month if you want to come and run your rig through some courses "thumbsup"

So how do you like it so far? Make any changes yet? Still waiting on the correct electronics for my brothers, so we've only experienced non crawling use with it so far.

I'm waiting on a battery and for me to get off my ass and make an electronics tray and such. Just haven't had much time lately with work.

I really like the looks of the orange on these, the body looks great. I iwsh I could have opened on up for myself but I sold all I ahd and them some. They look good "thumbsup"
