Axial rr10

Will the RC4WD Wraith steering link work with the RR10? Would that be a decent selection for a first upgrade? Also, I'm debating between a 20t and a 27t for rock crawling and driving trails (I already have a short course truck for bashing). Any recommendation which motor would be better for those uses on 2S or 3S?

The stock 35T motor will be much better for rock crawling and trails, no need to change it for that application.

So the puller pro 3300 on 3s is super fast. Going down to a 10t pinion. I have regular drive h d gears in front and back. Besides going 2s how else could I slow it down some? I'm running about half throttle. Anything more and it's just crazy fast. Fun but not ideal for trailing. New spur combo or something?

Try tuning your exponential on the transmitter. For a Spectrum radio, I have mine set to approximately negative 75. Easier to control because the throttle is less twitchy.

A 66t spur may fit, it's going to be tight. 2s, a slower motor, UD gears or a 2 speed kit would help.

Just have the stock tactic radio. Was thinking of grabbing a transmitter since the trigger on it is so mushy. Are the basic 3 channel spectrums much better. Not buying another motor that's for sure.

Get a Castle link and tweak the ESC.

Just research the specs and ensure that the exponential is a parameter that can be manipulated via the transmitter. A good controller is worth it.

I think I may do a remote and the two speed. Buying spur gears and moving to under drive gears is just as expensive. Might as well try that out. Seems cool too. But I definitely want a better controller. Coming from planes I'm spoiled on good feeling remotes.

You pretty happy with that spectrum? Model? They are the cream of the crop in rc air but lots of negative views online about their car remotes. Probably it's all in who you talk too

Older (silver) DX4C for me as well, been going strong for a while. Expo and end points change a rig.

With the DX4S, the servo speed can be tuned as well, I turn my servo speed down to about 12 (compared to 100) so that the rig gets a realistic lock to lock turning speed as opposed to be turning at a warp speed in scale.
