BEC between tekin FXR and servo on 3cell

I run 1250 3s on my fxr no problems here I also run a cc bec to my hitec 7950 I love My FXR!

Well said. BEC is in place and works so far... im having an issue now even after i programmed the FXR with throttle and reverse. i seem to have about a quarter of my trigger throw engaged before i get a reaction in either forward or reverse.... running a DX3c all trims and such are 100%. im at a loss, i cant slam it into reverse from forward either?

1-Do you have throttle expo set? (shouldn't have it)
2-Do you have throttle curves set (check, adjust as required).
3-Did you calibrate the ESC to the RX?
4-How is your reverse set, some have a double tap for reverse which sucks for crawlers.....

Thanx for the assist charlie, turns out i was having issues in the settings and programming it...user error. Sol good now

Who is bashing anything? All I said was I didn't realize how poorly the FXR handled 3S and I was obviously talking about the relationship to 3S and the BEC, since that is what this thread was about. And people freaked out I like punched a baby in the face.

Is it not a fact that the FXR is advertised as an industry leading crawler ESC? Check. Is it advertised as running on 3S? Check. Is it advertised as having a 6V/3A BEC? Check. Does the manual say anything about potential problems using the BEC and 3S? Nope. Has it been confirmed that the FXR BEC cannot handle 3S and some motors? Yup.

All facts. Nothing more, nothing less. If you run a BEC and/or tight on space, I see no issues with the FXR.

Charlie-lll and Ty@tekin, very well said.

Slaughter- next time you might want to use some sense as to age of a product and knowing this hobby is different from others, read up next time because its pretty stupid to bash a product that's been around so kong and worked so well

Mother Heffers be thread jackin to beak off about opinions for a whole page, think i got about 2 pieces of advice.... which did the trick. I had the FXR out for a few packs now. Love it runnind a 3s 3200mah 35t in my honcho. Custom BEC to a mg645 No issues.

The BEC wasn't designed for crawlers and the load the servos demand of the circuit. I see no problem having to run an external BEC, because they fail, and I'd much rather replace a $25 BEC than the whole ESC.

The FXR will handle 3S just fine with some servos, and it won't with others. Just because Joe Smith wants to use a servo that came out AFTER the FXR did and it browns out the BEC, does that make it our fault? It's still one of the smallest controllers on the market and offers the most features for crawling. The BEC was fine until all the power hungry servos started coming out, I ran 3S 45T in my Axial for over a year with an older HiTec servo with no issues. Threw in a high torque JR and it started browning out.

Trust me, the FXR happened to work for crawling and it is awesome, think about what a crawler-specific ESC from us will bring to the table.

Again your still not taking in to account of the age of the fxr..... It's pretty damn old and back when it first came out, rccrawling was kinda new also, so there wasnt much HIGH TORQUE servos out. A fxr will work just fine without a bec in 3s if you had a NORMAL servo. And that's what it was made for back then. So the info was never misleading. You just didn't think.

damn some one told me I should ask questions on here but really if this is how a thread goes when some one ask a question then no thanks:roll:

Normally it doesn't, we just don't like it when someone starts kinda bashing a product without knowing anything about it.

oh well this is a little out a hand don't you think personally I will run what ever works I have FXR's , roosters , sidewinders and I have nothing bad to say about any of them but i do check and make sure they will do what i need them to"thumbsup"
