Beers

Had this tonight nicely aged!

I'm a stout and lager drinker, not a fan of most IPAs. If you ever want a really good ale try New Holland Dragon's Milk"thumbsup".

The vertical epics are different every year. The 2006 is like a stout. Beer advocate calls it a belgian strong dark ale.

MMmmm, that just looks good.

Finished off a Great Lakes Commodore Perry IPA six pack earlier today, so I went and got a Mad Hatter Imperial IPA four pack and a Racer 5 IPA six pack. I'm still on the IPA kick. Had a Mad Hatter, and I'm half way into a Racer 5. If I had to pick one Michigan brewery, it would not be New Holland, but it would be Founder's.

Here's what I had a few days ago. Not all by myself of course! My regular watering hole had a featured brewery night, The Bruery. So I decided to dig some heavy hitters out from my stash as I knew they wouldn't bring those as they were extremely limited. A couple other guys brought some bottles to share too that are hard to come by out here.

Have you guys had ship yard before? Its a Maine beer

Ship Yard makes a good beer after Comedian Bob Marley called "Upta-Camp"
It's so smooth and so good.

As I was walking to my truck, my boss met me in the parking lot. Handed me this and said, "Have a good weekend"! I'm not a huge fan of Guinness, but free beer always starts my weekend off well "thumbsup"

Friend of mine tried PA based Victory's Golden Monkey and wasn't sure if he liked it, and also mentioned it's 9.5%. I was intrigued so I bought it today.

COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Enchanting and enlightening, this golden, frothy ale boasts an intriguing herbal aroma, warming alcohol esters on the tongue and light, but firm body to finish. Exotic spices add subtle notes to both the aroma and flavor. Strong, sensual and satisfying.

It's weird for me. It smells like alcohol, though I have a gnarly sinus infection going on and I know my smeller ain't smelling right, but I get little herbal aromas, just alcohol stink. And the flavor is very light at first with maybe a clove like flavor, light as the color is, then alcohol, then some spice, then a lingering something I can't describe. Probably alcohol and spice. :ror:

I might be buzzed a little, but she looks like a dude. Kinda.

:flipoff:

Found my Tulip tasting glass over the weekend. So I had to take some pictures. I started with a Founders Centennial six'r (didn't care to take pictures for some reason), cause it's about a favorite of mine, then went back for some more, but ended up with the Ol' Dirty Bastard six pack. There's $24.

Oh yeah, I also had a Left Hand Brew 400 Pound Monkey IPA six pack that was mediocre, and a Rogue Irish lager 22 oz'r that was also just mediocre. It was an expensive, drunkard weekend for me!

Those were another $18.

Now I'm starting the week off with the stand by...
