Beers

Thought I'd give some home state beer a try. After all, North Carolina produces some decent micros like Duck-Rabbit and Cottonwood. I picked up a sixer of Lone Rider Shotgun Betty Hefeweizen.

Now I love me some wheats, but this one comes off a little weak. It has a great banana-clove start then nothing. Pretty label though. Gotta go back to Cottonwood Low Down Brown or Franziskaner Weissbier.

Splurged.

Pink elephants. :afro:

My gift to C*H*U*D for his hospitality during this week in CO "thumbsup"

I had a pint with dinner tonight... YUM!

Anyone pick up any DFH 120 Minute yet this year? I've heard it's on the way to Florida now, but some other states have already gotten theirs.

This is all gone because we were afraid of it going flat. Planking pictures soon followed.

Had a few beers this weekend so far:

Rogue Dead Guy
Watou Tripel
Erie Railbender
Erie Presque Isle Pilsner
Erie Mad Anthony Pale Ale
Sierra Nevada Ovila Dubbel

Picked up a couple of beers today for later in the week:
DFH Hellhound
DFH Squall

Friend brought this back for me from a recent trip to Colorado.

Their IPA, and it's like drinking a bitter watery pine tree.

nothing else i've tried screams "pine trees" like Harpoon's Winter Warmer.

I do not advocate drinking it, neither.

The Sierra Nevada Winter Ale tastes the same way to me. I got some Sam Adams Octoberfest today, I was surprised to see it already. There was also a good looking brunette giving away samples of a canned beer from Maui, it is called Coconut Stout. Damn good beer!! I post a pic of the can tomorrow.

Nice skellyo yo!

The Aphrodite has an interesting hue to it. What is it?

It's basically a raspberry beer. Very good flavor and not over the top for taste or aroma. I had a similar style from DFH last weekend as well...Black and Blue. It was heavy on the blueberry aroma, but was a pretty balanced flavor.

I find myself buying a lot of limited or seasonal releases here lately. I tend to kick myself if I don't when I read good things about it later.

I went there... finally.

Golden Ale... juiced up with some serious alcohol flavor.
