Broken gears before I even made it outside to try out my XR10

This is a PHENOMENAL kit!! It does have some weak spots and those are NOT the gears! The motor plate is the real problem and with that the small bearings. I would say 75% is that the bearings fit so sloppy in the motor plate.

I couldn't agree more. It is a great kit!

There is still a manufacturing issue that needs to be addressed though. That is all I'm trying to say. I have not once bashed Axial for anything. Just suggesting that the problems are easily remedied and that it should be handled by the manufacturer, not the aftermarket.

Here's how I broke the gears: I built the kit, wired up the electronics, adjusted the radio, set the model down on the carpet and went forward slowly. Then I backed up and stopped. Then I gave it full throttle in the forward direction and SNAP!

in this pic, where is the bearing that is supposed to rest at the end of the gear shaft on the far left?

i see grease, but no bearing.

Ha I don't think you get it, this is the best and cheapest to every come out and a lot of people are complaining, and frankly the complaints seem to be based around those lacking experience.

Many of you really do need to step back and look at the big picture and what a huge thing Axial did from scratch.

I think thats wrong, i think the complaints are stemming from the fact its labeled "competition ready"... (Ready once you do some upgrades)

Yes this rig is amazing and works well, but you still cant argue the fact that when the biggest selling point is price...You should not need to dump another $50 or do custom work in order for it to run more then 5 minutes.

I for one am happy with my rig and would buy it again 10 times over. Im just trying to point out what the argument is in my mind.

The repair mod is any easy one and anyone who is capable of building this kit whould be able to accomplish it. But IMO they shouldn't be required to do it just to be able to enjoy the product as it was intended to be used.

If this is an acceptable issue, I just hope that those that are accepting this issue at least got a complimentary reach around..

What's the difference between Axial making a fix and Vanquish? If Axial made a fix you'd still buy Vanquish for top notch quality. I don't see the problem, as long its fixed who cares?

Good thing too, because if it was like it used to be when you had to build your own rig, there would still only be 15 of you sitting around playing with yourself. The ease of the hobby is whats attracting people to it.. A cheap "competition ready kit" will attract even more..."thumbsup"

Where the dam lemon law when we need it. I saw two of the plastic truck break this week end. But I did drive one and it was sweet.

and i just bought VP bushings and have had no issues w/ the lil plastic truck.

all us local CO boys have addressed the issue and moved on.

And the XR10 is dominating.
