In a Ford he should not need another person to hear the pump.twisted said:an easy way to check to see if it is your fuel pump is working is to turn the key over (not all the way) and have someone down by the gas tank and listen for a buzz sound. if you hear that your fuel pump is working.
the year is 1988, and its got a 2.9 liter.slugzracing said:Also some very important information is what year and engine?

One other thing to make sure you still have is spark. Pull the any plug wire off of the spark plug and hold it next to a metal ground, turn the engine over and if you do not see or hear the spark then that is where you need to start.
