I got a bronco II. I was out wheelin the other day and it just cut off. It has gas, it will turn over but it just wont start up. Any one no what the problem could be? Any help would be nice, thanks

Check the fuel pump cutoff on the passenger side floorboard up towards the firewall.

an easy way to check to see if it is your fuel pump is working is to turn the key over (not all the way) and have someone down by the gas tank and listen for a buzz sound. if you hear that your fuel pump is working.

In a Ford he should not need another person to hear the pump.
One other thing to make sure you still have is spark. Pull the any plug wire off of the spark plug and hold it next to a metal ground, turn the engine over and if you do not see or hear the spark then that is where you need to start.

Also some very important information is what year and engine?

I second this...it is a black little box with a white button I think on the right side of the box push it down and it should fire right up...

I had a 87 and 88 ranger this happened on both of them... both the 2.3 and 2.9...

Thanks for all your guys help, my step dad and i will have to do that sometime. We cant for a couple days cause we both just got our wisdom teeth cut out, and the dentist guy said not to breeth any cold air. If its the fuel pump cut off switch is the problem then ill let u guys no. Thanks

isnt there a way to completlt illiminate the switch? i have the exact same bronco and i think when i did my body i remember doing something with that.

i had the same problem happen on my 89 mercury topaz.. just died.. it was that stupid inertia switch... that seems to be the most common... course, i also had the "fusable link" go out also... thats where ford had a brainiac idea to use an actuall wire that could burn otu rather then using a fuse...

at least they circled the problem on the steering wheel

Well after 6 mounths (i posted thid thread 3 mounths after this happend) of it just sittn in a huge sink hole i finialy got up off my lazy @ss and did somethin. We took our 4-wheeler a generator, a air compresor, and battery charger. We hooked that all up, then i did what u all said and i found fuel pump cut off switch. Let the battery charge and then tryed to start it up..... nothin still. Then we sprayed some gas in to the fuel injection and still........nothin. Then i was like then it must be some electical prob. So i looked around and followed the wired........there it was a loose distributer wire just layin there. Then we hooked it up and turned it over and she started right up. Just like a champ. And now shes runin like a champ.

Good to hear, always feels good when you finally find something small like that and get going again.
