Bulldog's Screamin 2 Southern Buggy

This is by far the cleanest and probably most expensive southern buggy I've seen on here! GREAT JOB! I must have been living under a rock to miss this awesome build thread!! Any running vids coming??

Can't wait for you to put that interior in....I can see diamond plating, lots of scale accessories, dash gauges, maaaaan! Any plans for a faux big block in that chassis somewhere?

Thanks guys. Alex, you're setting the bar a little high for me. Although it is going well, there are some amazing rigs on here that I wouldn't want to be compared with. And the interior isn't going to be amazing. I just don't have the energy to get nutty. I've got 5 builds going on right now and just really need something to get this rig into a video. Stay tuned....but not too tuned. I'm shooting for before Christmas sometime. "thumbsup"

Parts painted...ready to assemble

Hey guys, quick update. Parts are painted and obviously I went with the original moonrover paint scheme. For those that don't know, it was the original version of screamin 2. I spent way too much time thinking about different paint schemes, but after watching some vids, had to go with this! On to the pics.
Here's my driver. I might do a little sanding but other than that, he's as close as I can get. He's not as handsome as me though.

The wheels painted up and the delrin mthead rings. Ok, evidently nothing sticks to delrin. Well, I sanded them and skipped the primer. Paint seems to be sticking. Why is it that the harder I try to get paint right, the worse results I get. When I break the rules and spray away, it turns out perfect? WTF, I'll take it.

The panels worked out well. I still don't know how I managed to get these things contoured to the body...made out of steel. It was a long day though.

Interior in...leaving me about 4 cubic inches for electronics. I may have to just strap all the parts on top. Nothing wrong with a Thule rack on a southern buggy is there?

I'm fired up! Lue (Mattzilla) is making the stainless links for me this weekend and I should have an update on the other odds and ends by the weekend. Thanks for looking.

Bulldog,
Another completely amazing build! This one is totally off the hook. Looking forward to the running videos.

And you've got four other builds going on? The Tuna, the Super Duty... yikes. I try to keep mine to one build at a time but with breakdowns, repairs become teardowns become upgrades become rebuilds... then I go out, beat the snot out of 'em, break something and the cycle continues. The RC habbit is kinda like being trapped in a weird sort of vortex...

Cheers,
T

Thanks Doc! I work in bursts! The best thing I ever did with this hobby is realize that the kids come first, and building comes second. If I didn't pick this thing up until next year, it doesn't matter. It takes the pressure off, when you realize that there's no rush.

As for the other builds, they are various levels of involvement. The Tundra build is engineered by me, and built by Lue. The Superduty is on the way back burner. The gooseneck trailer is coming soon. Stay tuned!

Ricky, I used modeling clay from wally world. It was really soft and it moved when you looked at it. I've never sculpted before, so I'll call it done, I just detest wrestling figures as drivers. The plans are for the head to rotate and lean into a turn. It's going to be tricky, but what the heck, why not. It will be weighted and rotate in the body. Details to come. "thumbsup"

I hear you about the kids - never ends, no matter how old they are. We're down to one at home, with two in college and one in the Coast Guard.

Stay tuned I will...

Cheers,
T
My kids are little...a 3 year old and a 9 month old. So I have my hands full. The best thing I could hear though is: "Daddy...I wanna build trucks!" Priceless. I give him some tires, a pair of channel locks, some painter's tape and he's off to the races! Good times. "thumbsup"

That will be cool, I used the same clay and made a complete body out of it. I made him a bobble head too. This is suppost to be me, my wife said it looked just like me. :ror:

:ror:i would have to take lsd to even think up the awesome ideas u have and are building ! nice work !:ror:

Thanks guys! LSD would only help me focus and get to building.
Parts are arriving, and I should have the rig rolling by next weekend. I've made a lot of progress on little stuff, but it's not worth posting.

For my local boy Bulldog,
If it's for the $$ U couldn't afford me. I weld & machine to food on the dinner table. RC's what I do, live for the NFL & die for my 2 kids.
Here's your links bro. Mattzilla.......
