If you are willing to risk it, you can avoid brown outs by disabling the low voltage cutoff. What happens is the battery gets sucked below the voltage threshold, so the ESC shuts off....the battery rebounds and the esc turns back on...
You have to be careful though as its easy to run the packs below the cutoff voltage, so I only recommend this for comps, where time limits should prevent you from running them too low.
