Il finally is being forced to allow concealed carry. So, now Im shopping for a gun for myself and for my wife. Ive always been a full framed, large caliber shooter so, Im almost lost with these little low cal guns...

What do you carry (make model caliber) and why?

S&W snubby 38 special w/laser grip. This thing is easy to carry, easy to use. Women friendly. You can put it on your ankle and almost forget its there. Or fits in pocket or any purse.

I'm thinking about the Diamondback DB9. $350-$370
Almost the exact same size as most 380's.

I carry a Kel Tec PF9.Fits in my front pocket and is fairly light.I had to do a finger rest mod to make it fit my hand better. Can't see it at all tucked in the waistband either.I was looking at a Ruger LCP 380 but it was like a tiny toy squirt gun in my hand.I could only get 2 fingers wrapped around the grip.I also looked at the Ruger LC9 and liked it(same size as the Kel Tec) but it was about $150 more.Plus I didn't like the safety and the round in the chamber indicator.I really liked the Springfield XD9 but just was a bit too big for me to carry.I wanted something that would fit in my pocket without being noticable.
9mm for me it fine.I know some will argue that you need a 40 or 45cal as a carry. For me I would rather be able to get 2 or 3 accurate shots off quickly.Plus 9mm ammo is cheaper.

single stack .40 cal. Still small enough to carry concealed, but has good knock down power without kicking like a mule in your hand. I use use to own 45 cal exclusively until i shot my H&K usp chambered in .40. IMO the 40 is the perfect balance.

Ruger LCP for momma, can carry anywhere it is so small, I've seen many .25's that are larger . And the .38 special for most of my CC.
But we do have other options .
The Taurus .45LC / .410 revolver is a attention getter too.
Of course here in Arizona it does'nt need to be concealed, nothing like walking through Walmart with a side arm 8).
We feel the Mossberg model 500 tactical 12 gauge with pistol grip and 7 rounds is best for home protection. We do give them a chance though , the slugs don't start till the 2nd round, they get buckshot the first time.

Ruger LCP in a nice pocket rig. 380 ammo has come a long way in terms of performance.
The smaller/lighter setup I find I carry much more often.

Well I carry a Ruger P95 full frame in my front right pocket with a Uncle Mike's inside-the-pants holster. I know it's large but I'm a fat man. I Bought it because of the price and the low cost of 9mm ammo. When I carry, I usually have an over sized shirt on and you can't tell that I am carrying it. I would love to have a "J" frame hammer-less S&W .357

but, I can't afford to purchase one.

Been looking at guns for the wife and probably going with a .38 semi auto of some sorts..

Smith & Wesson M&P 40. It's lighter than a 1911 style frame due to its polymer construction and it's available in a compact version called the M&P Shield. I have the full size M&P 40 and my next purchase will be the M&P Shield in .40 cal. .45 caliber handguns seem to have a bigger recoil than the .40 cal which is why I prefer to carry the .40 caliber. I also have a 1911 style Colt in .45 ACP but for my personal preference it's just a little too big for me to carry.

Another reason for me purchasing the Smith & Wesson M&P...it's American made.
Full size M&P 40.....
