Cheap winch controller made....Video added
Well I had to come up with something since I burnt my RC4WD remote winch controller and after asking if it was possible to send it back for repair, and getting a NO as an answer I decided I was going to make my own controller from trash I had arround.
The task was EASY... I took a broken servo apart, and used the main board as a controller (after all a servo moves a motor correct).
You can use an old servo that doesn't work anymore with stripped gears or burnt motor the important part is that the main board is good.
I dissatured the servo motor and in the place of the motor I placed the positive and negative power cables that power the winch.
After that I adjusted the pot of the servo so that I had zero volts in the centered position, put a drop of superglue so that the pot wouldn't move anymore and dipped everything in plastidip.
Result: The controller works perfectly and the cost of it was ZERO.
So no more spending money on a winch controller.... "thumbsup"
