chevy prerunner/trophy truck build

We'll sorry for not having any posts. I have been busy with school. I pretty sure I know where I wanna take some videos but it's hard to find time and the weather always gets back when I want to. Plus it's kinda hard to drive and take pictures and video. But I have some pics. I was bored. How about some flex pics.

We'll it's been a while since anything got put on this thread. Truck has been running great! Links still working perfect (no faith!) trucks still all in one peace nothing braking. Love driving this thing, watching the suspension and all. The truck is done if I do any mods or change anything I'll post it. But for now tell me what you think! Got her a little dirty this week.

I am very happy with this thing. We'll have a great week y'all.

So I'm considering upgrading the the transmission I want to give it a little more high end speed. I'm still running a 12t brushed 550 motor with a 32t pinion, and a 2s lipo. I was thinking of getting an axial transmission. What would happen if I put my motor and spur in there and then put a 50 or 60t spur gear. Would that be to low of a gear and stress out the motor. I haven't seen anyone that tried to put a small spur on an axial trans.

Any one herd of Someone doing that? Wanna know if it's a bad idea.

We'll hello there. So I ordered a wraith transmission and a new spur gear so waiting on that should be here any day now.
,
I also decided to change the frame a little bit

also got the rear plat drilled some holes and mounted it

I did this to enable the axle to go higher into the chassis.

Gained about an inch of up travel almost.
.
Also did a little servo mod to ad some steering.

just made it longer. I'll post more pictures when I get the transmission in.
.
I will try to get a video here soon. I have place I want to take the video just hard finding time to go there. Tell me what ya think.

Here is some what of an update I got my transmission in.
9usa7esa.jpg
decided to put it in the regular mounting spot (wich I moved back in order to make a straighter line for the driveshaft.

I will have to figure out a different way for the electronics. But it looks clean.

it has the 80 tooth spur it came with still looking for a new one. I was looking at the venom and the wraith trans. And it took about one full turn on the spur to spin the output shaft once. It took the venom like three full spins of the spur gear. So the motor will be faster with the wraith. Can't wait to drive her. Have to shorten the droop strap on the left side by the drive shaft it's binding to much from the droop. Then I'll be good to go. Enjoy y'all.

Hey guys little update. Still waiting for the new 49 tooth spur gear. But I drove it a bit the other day worked pretty good front end is right as I want it. But still figuring out the rear suspension. But I am a bad driver my front skid plate was pretty bent up. But she worked good. Anyways back to the update. It rolled to easy around corners. So I made a sway bar. I have a couple coat hangers laying around. Made a couple put the medium thick one in yo start we will see how it works.

I know I promised a video and I am working on it. I went to where I plan to make it. Drove around got some good ideas. But I didn't have the camera and I'm still finessing the truck. I will get one soon hopefully. Haha.

So I made a custom valance for my trophy truck. The sway bar really helped. My gear should be here soon. Hopefully! But for now you can see the valance.

Alright rc world am in need of your assistance!!!!! I need som suggestions on how to set up my suspension! I have tried everything I can think of. I want a smooth ride. I have a sway bar. And u have tried multiple things. The rear of the truck likes to lift up when I accelerate. So I added son weight over the rear axle. But it seems like it won't sit up it wants to ride with the suspension maxed out. And if I put a stiffer spring it won't compress. I need help please.

Put some real links on it and lower your shock mounts. I doubt that your wire coat hanger sway bar is doing a lot.

Why do you think that putting "real links are gonna change anything?" Sway bar actually works great. And how is lowering the shock towers gonna do anything but push the axle down more?

The links won't change anything with the suspension, it'll just make it look nicer.

The swaybar is probably too stiff to make the suspension cycle properly. As far as what you're asking, it's very confusing. As you accelerate the back should squat not lift up. Sounds like you have some major torque twist going on.

I know it should squat and I wish it would but it actually lifts. Literally. I have looked everywhere to try to correct it and I cannot figure it out. I have tried different oil and everything. The only thing that stopped it was putting a 3 pound weight on the back.

Try to mount the bottom end of the shocks closer to the axle. This will create a higher leverage point for the shocks.

If you compare your shock mounts to Blue Monkey or VP's, you'll see that yours are wayyyyy too far forward.

We'll I got the suspension stroke a lot smoother it was kinda rough before. I fixed it mostly I am gonna take off the limiter straps and see if more travel will help.

This is the weight I have on the back.

This is what I did. I put the shocks upside down. (I'll splain in a second) and moved them closer to the axle. (Thank you for that) http://

.
The main reason I put the shock upside down was because by doing that the oil goes to the top of the shock (I put 90 weight oil) so it is easy and fast until it gets to the last 1/4" of travel then it slows down from the thick oil. So jumping and hard impacts it will be slowed down. Still gonna play with it figure it out a little better but thanks for the advice.
