hello check this out i found it while shopping for a winch for my xj it was only 400 bucks shipped to my house. you need to buy the synthetic line and a fair leed but for this price it will come out to like 1100 bucks including a new front bumper and the line and fairleed instead of like 1600 bucks for a lesser winch. click the pic and it should take you to the site i got it from.:)

yeah everything i have read on this looks good 6.5 hp motor series wound good brake. i called them this morning they said there is only 1 left. when i looked for pricing on this on other site's it was like 1000 to 1200 bucks just for the winch:)

I believe you can still pick up Smittybuilt for around $250 for an 8k # winch with cable and fairlead. They did a test with all the cheap winches (including Harbor Freight) in 1 of the 4 wheel mags, the only 1 that failed during Moab Easter safari was the T-maxx and I believe it was something simple/stupid that broke. If you dont care about line speed and you wont be winching 5 times a day... go for a cheaper one.

A fellow wheeler buddy of mine had tested one of the TMax winches for a long period of time and by the end of it, they had to repair it several times in both the electrical and mechanical areas. It wasn't this "comp" winch, but I think just the regular EW-9000. All said and done, he said he'd never own one if he had to pay for it.

I bought a Superwinch EP9.0 to put on my XJ for just over $450 about 3-4 years ago, and has been going strong ever since. That price came with the roller fairlead, a snatch block and the cable....but it doesn't have the wireless control...and of course isn't the fancy braided rope . I'm going to be upgrading to the rope soon, but the cable works fine if you know how to take care of it.

I've been running Tmax winches for many years now. It started as a challenge at first because I was skeptical, so I was given the first one. I do a lot of off-road events etc and the Tmax has been flawless. Some of the ones sold early on in the US market didn't have gaskets on the housings, but they all do now. I've winched a dozen heavy rigs in a row with mine and it chugs away without a problem. One event I did last year, the Warns were dropping like flies- apparently they outsource a lot more than they used to and jumped the shark.
TMax is an interesting company. They manufacture the electric MileMarker winches and many of the other 'house brand' types. The differences are in the specs. The TMax has bearings, where the lower spec house brands and some MM's have bushings. The electrical pack (solenoids, controller) on the others are often sourced elsewhere and inferior. I'm not crazy about the TMax controller, but it's better than any low end stuff. I prefer the wireless option, where TMax uses the full size controller instead of a small key fob that's hard to use with gloves.
Anyway- this already is longer than I intended. Bottom line, TMax failure rate outperforms current Warn and matches Superwinch. They are OEM suppliers to Nissan as well. I've got and 11K, 12K w/wireless, 9500 and 6500 on my trucks and never a hint of a problem. Several rock crawlers are running the TMax at national levels- I've got pics from the SEMA offroad show of some if you want verification. "thumbsup"

my buddy runs synthetic on his rock crawler the stuff is super strong and light weight. we managed to break the line one time from it being drug on some rocks it fell straight to the floor unlike steel that probably would have flung all over the place and injured us so i am a believer in the rope line just use common sense and don't drag it over the rocks with out the protection sleeve in place. plus we where able to put the end back on and braid it back together"thumbsup" unlike steel that would have had to been replaced.:-(
