coolers...

I was at Bass Pro Shops the other day and couldn't believe the price of those little coolers, ridiculous. You must have alot of bears out on the water.

Sorry I can't help you any, but I was curious if those things were worth that kinda cash? That's a lot of fishing lures I could add to the collection.

Check out Frigid Rigid. When I was on the 87' cutter in S. Florida we had two large ones we kept drinks in. They would sit out in the sun day and night in the heat and held ice for about 5 days (completely melted). Actually got to go to their shop and see how they made them. They have a pic in their office of a boat that caught on fire and pretty much burned the whole boat. The cooler was very burnt and charred but the next pic showed it still had ice in it! Great coolers and VERY durable.

Ended up getting a good deal on the yeti 65... I'll end up getting the 105 too. I need to get the cushion for the tops and they make perfect boat seats

Yeah, if you're using a Yeti, then you're pretty much at the top of the cooler totem pole. You may find as good of quality, but I doubt you will find better quality.

Yea I dont think there is much better than a Yeti. There are other nice ones out there but I my opinion Yeti is the way to go if you can afford the coin to drop on it

Bah, you guys are no fun. I was going to recommend those squeaky white styrofoam coolers you can get at any convenient or grocery store.
It's like a game trying to keep them things from blowing apart.

I ended up buying a Yeti 65 last summer and just picked up a Pelican 150qt this past weekend. So far I liking the Pelican features over either of the Yeti's I own.

I'm going to do a head to head ice comparison this weekend

I get about 4-5 days of ice out of my Coleman Xtreme for $30.
I always have a gallon bottle of solid ice & 2-3 bags of crushed.

How long does your ice keep in a $300 cooler?

If the top never gets opened, 6 to 7 days during the summer. We have an ice machine at work so they get topped off every day so it's hard to say.

So the value in those yetis is the extreme durability.
Very sweet looking coolers.
If ever I ascend Everest I will put one of those on the list for my Sherpa to grab (so my beer does not freeze8).)"thumbsup"

Durability is reason that I went with them... And the fact that I can get them at cost helps!
