Brood 35T, in two flavors. One was "special", bigger wire IIRC.
I also have a franken motor, Fantom 30T arm in a reedy quad mad can. I believe the can and endbell came from a "Ti worlds motor"

Ti Worlds was laydown brushes, 2 magnet can....
If its a quad magnet can with laydown brushes, thats a Reedy KR...

Yeah I wasn't 100% sure where the can and endbell came from exactly, but it is a Reedy and it does have laydown hoods and 4 magnets.

Fantom is the best in my opinion, I have 5 of them. The hudy stuff is nice......twister and reedy are both good units if you can find one in decent shape....
The Trinity, Orion, Much More, etc are not bad units......
Cobra and Integy/Xipp stuff is ok....the big thing with them is they get tweaked really easy.....and most out there are tweaked.
At this day an age, I would say you should be able to pick up a lathe for under $50 pretty easy used......which makes me shudder that my Fantoms were almost $500 each.

Ok,I see Eddie jb welding neo magnets into basic 540 cans
What is the beinifit of neo magnets
If I had to guess from the pics,the arm on the new motor is bigger
so I;m guessing neo magnets are strong yet thinner,allowing for the arm to fit in the 540 cans diamiter.
are there any draw backs to using a neo magnet
since they are thinner,do they still handle heat good,ect

They handle heat just as good as ceramic, usually better. They are much stronger....
You can basically get more magnetic power from a magnets 1/4 of the size....
The downsides are they are not cheap, they run kinda hot and they need more voltage pumped into the arm to balance out the fields......
I used the JB weld, as I had it sitting there. I will be using a high temp non-magnetic epoxy for the production motors. JB weld is too messy, as it actually has magnetic material in it....

I have an Orion lathe(Daren's Quick Set Motor Lathe) that I got a while back, works great but I have a chance to pick up a Hudy lathe and some Reedy TI motors for cheap. Would that Hudy lathe be better than what I have and would it be worth say 40- 45 shipped? The Hudy is mint and comes with 2 new carbide bits plus 1 used.

Hudy looks clean. If the price is right jump on it. One thing with the bearings shavings will roll between the arm shaft and the bearing and cause a little "jump". I almost ruined a top motor like that. Other than that no compliants on the Hudy
I got 6 different lathes Hudy included, the Orion is my favorite. I believe the same manufacture makes the slide/movement assembly for several different brands of lathes. My Fantom is the only one that really looks a little different, other than some being left or right cut.

Hudy lathes are made entirely Hudy.....they have very extensive machine shops and such at their factory. Very little stuff is farmed out.....usually just screws, washers, bearings.....anything thats machined though is made there.
Mr. Hudy designs most of the stuff, including a most of the Xray cars.....his son does some stuff too.
