I wish Americans would stop obsessing about god. Or the Christian God, to be specific. It's a cultural heritage. But please get over it. It's funny, because even Jews don't believe in the original God 1.0 from the old testament, so why should modern Americans cling on to God 2.0 from the new testament?

That's why I was thinking it was pretty harsh. For a God that loves us, I would think non-believing would be kind of a misdemeanor.

It's that free will to do as "we" choose thing, that was the promise to us.
What we do has consequences.
I do believe, and as His Word says every knee shall bow and every tounge will confess Him as Lord at that time. Whether you believe or not.
Guess we'll all know on that day and depending on the choices we have made some will surely be more surprised than others.

no, I'm talking about Jews who are alive and kicking in 2017. I'd be surprised if you could find anybody who takes the Jewish holy scriptures to be literally true on all accounts. Israel is on the forefront of science and technology. People are simply too intelligent to believe in old fairytales. If you for instance believe literally the story of Noah's Ark, or that the angel of God flew around Egypt killing every first born baby son, you need to see a psychiatrist.

And I suppose you don't believe Pharoh killed all of the Israelites first born trying to kill Moses or that Herod killed the first born of the Jews in Nazareth trying to kill Messiah.

I'm all for people having religious beliefs, but draw the line at them using mythology to support it.

There were gobs of civilizations thriving around the world at the time of the supposed flood, and 99.99999% do not recount anything approaching the magnitude of a global flood.

Not to mention the physically impossible task of repopulating many millions of people and reestablishing advanced civilizations across the globe in the span of just a few centuries.

Hey, if you're an atheist, that's fine, I don't care, I'll believe in what I want to believe in whether it's real or not, as long as you're not trying to convert me.

Do I believe in a supreme being, YES!

Do I practice my religion, No. I was raised Roman Catholic, went to a Catholic grade school, & went to church with my parents, even as an adult while living in their house. Last time I was in a church was at my wedding. Doesn't mean I left my religion behind, but we were always taught that God was all around us, so if he is, then I should be able to pray to him in my time of need, without going to a place of worship, and when things go right for me, thank him in the same manner.

This is my point of view, no argument. Those that don't agree with it, I don't care. You have your beliefs, I have mine, period.

My sister-in-law claims to be atheist, yet she has a grave plot in a Catholic cemetery, IRONIC, isn't it?
