I just recently started shooting video of my runs. Both "in car" with a mini dvr and external with my digi cam.

I want to know what movie editing program people are using. i need something that is user friendly and preferably free.

Thanks

i have windows,
so i use windows movie maker.
it came on my computer."thumbsup"

Heh, thanks. My ciomputer recently had a new main hard drive installed and I didn't even care to look through what was in the bundle my friend installed. WMM is in there:roll:

Windows Movie Maker is very good for a free program. It's pretty simple to figure out too. I use Sony Vegas now mostly, but I still use WMM some because it does a few things Vegas won't. "thumbsup"

WMM is a good simple program but very limited..

I too use sony vegas but its like photoshop and hard to learn but VERY powerfull..

I've been using WMM since last year, it took a while to figure out how to edit scenes within the story board, but now I'm kinda getting the hang of it. Be sure to avoid using .MOV video files, the WMM won't handle them, try to keep everything in a .AVI format.

Just remember to save your work VERY OFTEN on wmm, it has a bad habit of locking up for no apparent reason. I remember having that happen and finding out that it's been a known issue for over a decade, but Microsoft has no incentive to fix it.

I bought Adobe Photoshop/Premiere Elements as a bundle, so that's what I use. I like Premiere Elements better than WMM, but WMM is free and works great.

another vote for windows movie maker. i just use a digital camera to record video, i also dont do a whole lot of the fancy special effects and stuff, but my videos come out alright.

once i have my recorded video on the computer open up WMM and click "import video" find your video and them start dragging the clips into the storyboard once done and your happy with the video, save to computer and you can upload it to youtube or wherever. its that simple.

here's some of my lawnmower racing video's i've recorded from the field with a digital camera and put together like i mentioned above in WMM.

thanks for all the responses guys"thumbsup" Since it's free and is on my computer already, WMM it is.

After I piece a vdeo together, I just have to sort through 20gb of music to find a song that's just right.
