EP's DNA SSS Axial

Shouldn't be driving on your steering links anyways! :ror:

That's the right attitude! Glad you tore apart your other rig to make this one.

The one complaint I have about the CDW 6mm outputs is the short front shaft when you move the tranny forward. I haven't had any real problems with it though.

Back at it, in white! Who says once you go black you don't go back? "thumbsup"

This is what I received as a replacement for my preproduction version.

DNA also hooked me up big time with some delrin lower links. "thumbsup"

I drove the other (lower) chassis a little bit the other night. The biggest thing I noticed was the weight difference.

I think this thing is close to 3 pounds lighter than my Berg is.

It did the rest of the stuff pretty good, it was a quick drive. Pretty cool truck really. But it was a tad low, so now I imagine this thing will be pretty killer.

Bah:!:, mine's sitting just over 2.25" with Rovers, you just need some taller(better) tires:ror:

Take it of any sweet jumps yet?"thumbsup"

do you like the revised chassis better the the preproduction version? Im still waiting for my new side plates to come in!

Well just posted in don's build and now seeing this I'm even more sold then I already was.... that's some awesome ground clearance! Throw some taller meats on there and you're golden!

Why would I want taller tires? You guys on the bandwagon or what?

Taller tires are for crappy drivers. :flipoff:

Ran it last night, and I will say yes, I do like the higher ride height. It glides over things much easier than when it was sitting a half inch lower.

don also told me that lenghtening and shortening the lower links lets you adjust the ride height a little more to"thumbsup"

Yep, tried that myself. The lower links I got were a little too long to make a 12.5" wheelbase and stretching the chassis a little. I trimmed em up a bit and that took the preload off the chassis, so it sits a touch higher, and at 12.5" WB.

I think this is going to be a popular chassis I like the feel of mine to bad I dont get to test the new side plates out for a week or so, im waiting on wheels from mayhem;-)

HA HA so taller tires not only gives you diff clearance but belly to and it seems you liked the extra belly height.... why not a little more? Looking good EP "thumbsup"

I'll be running Comp Claws on the higher-clearance version, the only reason I'm running Rovers is to bring this first version up a smidge in the belly. I'm also a fan of smaller tires, but I can get away with the Rovers on this chassis since the CG is so low, as I don't get any of the ill-effects of running the bigun's...say like on my GC2 or SWX;-)"thumbsup"

Now where's the vid???:ror::-P

Crappy drivers! :flipoff:

I placed third in a comp today. Crappy driver! :flipoff:

No video! :flipoff:

It was only my second time driving it, but the truck worked pretty good. I like it. I'm getting some wheel hop on steep stuff, and it's a little springy sometimes, like it's unloading too quickly, so I need to tweak a bit. I went back through the courses and the truck did it all eventually. You know how that goes...

It makes me wonder if there is such a thing as too light? Less traction? Maybe try softer foams. Oh yeah, maybe the Panther memory foams.

Glides over stuff. Delrin is cool.

Here it is with an old body on the hood of a Jeep.

Sweet.

I would think very soft memory foams would be the hot ticket on something that light. the trinity's super soft genius memory foams are the softest I've felt.

I didn't like mine as much until I added some weight. By no means am I heavy, maybe between 5-5.5lbs. I get a little wheelhop in certain situations, but can overcome it either with slowing down the spinning or speeding it up:ror:

Nice job on 3rd with an untweaked truck"thumbsup" We'll see how I fare tomorrow at my comp.

Sweet good job man!

Sounds like you may not have enough anti squat and it's trying to unload that suspension! Can't wait for you to tune it up and TAKE VID this time of the difference from before and after lol!

"thumbsup"

Actually I'm thinking I have to much anti squat, and it's hitting too hard and since there's no actual dampening it's out of control. :ror:

I changed the rear links a bit to reduce the AS number. I also put a Panther memory foam in the rear tires. Softening up the whole rear end.

SO you think the truck is trying to squat down? ... This might be to hard to tell online because with no actual shocks to see if they are compressing or extending it's sorta tough! But hey try it out and let us know!
