Re: Exclusive review of the Axial YETI AX90026

I learned how to not waste money.

Bah! C'mon! Do it!

When I saw its down to $40 I was really tempted. Once I get my pro chassis finished up I'll probably pull the trigger on gt6. I don't need any more distractions right now or my team drivers are going to have a fit.

Great pictures and video! Nice driving too! In the video, is that a "box stock" rig and if not can we get details? Did any gears strip or beak? Any "breakage" at all? Thanks!

Re: Exclusive review of the Axial YETI AX90026

I think Axial will sell a ton of yeti RTR versions.

Re: Exclusive review of the Axial YETI AX90026

Badger, was that a preproduction model / prototype or was it and actual production model?
Preproduction.

How well do you think it will crawl? Gear it down a bit I would imagine....
The Yeti comes with a 2 speed tranny locked in 2nd gear so with the add-on parts to unlock 1st gear it should crawl very nice.

The rigs were box stock. No gears were stripped, in fact the only issue I had after literally driving and beating on it for several hours was with the front dog bone popping out of the drive cup a couple times at the very end of the day of.

Are the dogbones the same as the exo? I'm wondering if my exo universal joint development will directly translate to the yeti.

Re: Exclusive review of the Axial YETI AX90026

Thank you Badger. Just read all 15 pages - looks like a well engineered truck - Here it goes, ...not looking to get yelled at BUT....for those of us "Axial Addicts" who built Wrexo's, which IMO building is far more satisfying than RTR, but that's just me, someone convince me that I should sell my Wrexo to make room for the Yeti. We wanted (us Wrexoites that is) a hybrid so we combined the best of the Wraith and Exo to make what apparently has been under wraps at Axial for quite some time. Granted there seems to be more travel in the rear much like a Twin Hammers, and the Exo front suspension appears to offer some great handling characteristics - stance looks great. BUT I just built a Wrexo! Crap......Now I've got a Wrexo that has a great stance, acceptable suspension travel and handles really well. SOMEONE CONVINCE ME THAT I NEEEEED THIS TRUCK!

Sounds like you already know you want one....
Any conversation you may have with someone trying to convince you will just make you not one or give you opportunity for rebuttal.... "thumbsup"

Just do it. Get one.... then mod it until it will climb stairs and turn within its own track width.

I don't know if the dogbones are the same as the EXO.

Re: Exclusive review of the Axial YETI AX90026

Not sure if I am going to wait for a kit or just pass on it all together. But this is a great write up, and it definitely will help people on their decisions, whether people like/dislike it, I think it has something for everyone, and those that are unhappy will surely be able to customize it for their needs, as seeing some of the talent on here "thumbsup"

Cheers,
Wade

Does it come in this box? Lol

Still no support for xparent tapatalk blue. great work tapacrap!

Re: Exclusive review of the Axial YETI AX90026

I'll be passing mostly because I'm broke but once I get the cash I will get one for sure.

Re: Exclusive review of the Axial YETI AX90026

My initial reaction was to get out my debit card and pre-order, but I still have two projects that need to be finished a wraith 1.9 and a wroncho. And might be buying a deadbolt (scx10) version for my son. So I think I'll wait for the kit version........maybe

Cheers,
Wade

Re: Exclusive review of the Axial YETI AX90026

I wish their was a way to incorporate some rear toe into a solid axle. Seems tough to keep a strait line when trying to go fast! Still a cool rig"thumbsup"
