Hey guys,
With the absurdley high failure rates on xbox 360's I know at least some people on here have to be getting the red ring of death. If like me your xbox is no longer covered under warranty there is still hope!
I found this write-up on how to fix the rrod Friday morning, did it Friday night and gamed all weekend with zero crashes glitches or other not so nice things happening.

I did notice that microsoft changed the design of the heat sinks at some point, so if your heat sink for the cpu doesn't match the picture you'll need to shorten the 20mm screws by about 3/16"

This is very very easy to do, anyone who can navigate this board and find this thread can accomplish it.
