Gobo 6x6 redux...Dakar T4/T5

Ugh...the one shot in the video of the wheel bending the wrong way reminded me of a bad football injury...looked ugly/painful. Your rig is a lot quicker than I expected Toz...
I guess it's too much to ask for some articulation in the rear wheels...would be ingterested to see how that is put together back there.
Looks like a lot of fun to drive...

Posty, ill get some pics later...I have to put the new knuckle screw in anyhow. I have a whole spare housing and wont even need it lol. Looked bad, but wheeled its way out and back to the staging area no prob...Gobo = tough :)

The rear flexes really well for a walking beam style

Here's a shot of the rear suspension.

The front is really basic. Essentially a radius arm setup.

You are definitely going hard in the paint with Gobo now! Time for me to stop drooling over other peoples rigs and finish my own don't ya think! What a putting on the side or are you leaving it naked to show case that color?

Thanks for the pics Toz....so a four link set-up in the front...and did I notice an angled link between the two rear axles??? Couldn't really see the end of it real well...curious as to why that is ?

Ya...a little black trim on the cover in the back to carry your color scheme thru...this rig gets better all the time..."thumbsup"

Box will get a vinyl wrap of this ...with the additional Dakar sponsor logos

The front isn't really a 4 link as the upper and lower links share the same pivot. Similar though.

Nice build. Where in your travels did you come across the giant chicken species? lol Looks very scale.

The new rear box is such a nice addition. So many possibilities there. I remember seeing a build on Scale4x4 of an expedition Ford truck. The thing was insane. Working tv's and stone counter tops in the back, etc. Amazing rig that if I remember correctly, he sold to the 1:1 company "thumbsup". Gojo just reminded me of that build a little once I saw the back on it.

I get excited to see it getting closer to being done ...and abit bummed because I know he will get traded or sold :)

At least I'm honest with myself :) I know I love building and running them, but once their done it's time tor the next build.

Is the box made of sign board material? Thats some really strong and light stuff, would be an excellent box.

Yes and yes! Its coroplast and it took me a while to end up there...I kept thinking of this orbthat and it was always too brittle (carbon fiber or balsa) or too heavy. The coroplast will take a beating (even more so with the vinyl wrap) and weighs nothing even with some small stainless L brackets.
