GT3B Hack Question and Answer Thread

Manual

Mr Losi

While I am waiting for my new radio to arrive, do you have a configuration manual I can have a look at that shows the upgrades, hacks, and new functions you have done.

Thanks

How many channels slots does the receiver have that comes with the pre hacked radio?

Sent from my uber smart, smart phone....

He ships with the same 3ch receiver that comes stock but you can add an additional Rx with more channels on his order page

If you've ordered a gt3b hack kit, did you just get a new download file email? With the newest 0.4.1 fw

I just realized i've been including 0.4.0 with all recent orders  Not a big deal...but i remember reading when i was setting up efiles with products that when i add new files a new email is sent out to the customer, just wondering if its happened or not. If it didn't i'll figure out how to make it or setup a new email notification thingy for GT3B Updates

Is there a manual to help set-up the different options when the radio arrives???

Something tells me I'm gonna be lost when it gets here and I try to set-up my 4WS and other options. :lmao::lmao:

switch mapping

Losi

My GT3B arrived today...thanks

where can I find a manual for the added features and how to use them?

and how to map the switches, I want to map either the D/R or the CH3 trim switch to control channel 3 for the blade on my Blizzard

Thanks
Steve

I may need a little help here. I'm having some odd issues. When I reverse I have a power surge/drop type of issue, and I get an odd steering twitch. Here is my setup. Flashed radio I think running 4.0. I'm running a castle micro. I'm running a futaba servo right off the 2s lipo. I checked the castlelink and I also recalibrated. I checked my axles for binding as well as my tranny. The issue when reversing is significant, and consistent as is the twitch which only happens once right when on the reverse gas.

Is there something in the radio setup I should be looking at other than the EPA's?

What rig?
What motor?
What capacity & "C" rating is the battery?
What battery connectors?

When you say "reversing", is this from a stop or when moving forward? If when moving, does it do it when going from reverse to forward??

I'm guessing a small mah pack with a low "C" rating can't keep up with the motor load when changing direction.

I don't think it's a radio issue.

It's an mrc with one of rockhards 17t motors. The battery is a 325 45c 2s thunderpower. The problem happens when the rig is at a dead stop. It happens when holding the rig in the air or on the ground. I wouldn't be questioning the radio if it wasn't for the fact that a steering issue is a result of a throttle movement. I'm also running deans full size connectors.

Well, you pretty much rule out everything outside the radio.:roll:8)

Where is the RX relative to the ESC & motor? I have a MRC Pro, so I know there is very little room.

Can you get a video of whats happening?

have you tried to erase he model memory settings from the radio?
it could just be a bad setting.

I have a comp tomorrow and pretty limited time to work on it. I might stick my dx3r stuff back in and see if that helps isolate the problem. I will report back.

Edit: Did some quick work this morning. I switched motors and the problem still existed. I also switched back to my son's spektrum stuff and the reverse issue went away but the steering issue almost looked worse. I think it is running my servo straight off the battery that is causing the issues. Someone asked about the location of the rx and esc. I am running a wedge chassis and I have the esc and rx "wedged" right up against each other on the opposite side of the tranny as the motor.
