Hi every one,

I'm Jimmy aka hanjin-san and I live in the south of France.
Let me introduce you my first scale build, started in 2011, based on a Axial SCX10 Honcho kit.

I usually start a project build by creating a 3d modeling of the project. So, here is the first render:

For the making of the rollcage, I've made a aluminum jig, who have the same holes location of the SCX10 châssis:

So, let's starting the first parts made with brazed stainless steel tubing;
The sliders:

Mounted on the jig:

Rear part mounted on the SCX10 châssis:

Stinger and front protection (different than the first design):

Done with Tamiya sprays and Parma paint:

After few months of running, it's time to make some scale improvements.
First, the front wheelarches, made with Lexan sheets:

I also made some Jeep look like mirrors.
From left to right: PVC prototype to find the best shape, stainless steel "master" and resin final part:

Painted, mirror sticker on it and mounted on the body:

Yokomo wipers:

To feed the greedy 4 liters inline 6, I decided to install a propane tank :ror:

First the body, made with PVC tubing:

Plugs, glued on the body and shaped on a lathe:

All the parts together:

And mounted on the truck:

After a stock "Y" link break, I decided to mount a 4 link set up on both axles.
On the rear with the Axial link mount:

And on the front with some homemade parts:

Are you serious!?!?!?!? :shock:Your work is incredible!!!!!! No offense to the other amazing builders on this site but I think thats the best comanche ive seen"thumbsup"

Some very outstanding work there."thumbsup""thumbsup"
Can't wait to see what you do next. :)

Thanks guys ;-)
62PYRO, this project is almost done. Maybe add an interior later but I'm not really sure.
I'm currently working on a 6x6 trial truck build, based on AR60 axles (I'll open a topic later to present it) and I also have a New Bright JK project "thumbsup"
And some others things in mind :ror:

Ever see something so good it physically makes you angry? Yep, i'm at that point. Outstanding work! "thumbsup"

Dude, now this is a built thread. I've never been one to like to wait 2-3 years to see a finished product on build threads I'd much rather see the entire build at one time. What are you brazing with? Those joints are incredibly clean. Awesome post and will look out for your other builds"thumbsup"

Thanks !
I'm brazing with propane/oxygen blowtorch with silver rods. I use small files and sand paper to have smooth joints and of course a lot of elbow grease :ror:

That is some super clean work. Nice clean lines, clean brazing and machine work. =)

That Jig is a great idea too! Consider making/selling those?

Simply the straightest, precise bends, cleanest welds - insane attention to detail. Right up there with the other artists that post here. Awesome creativity......the jig is a great idea.

Where do I place my order for Parts?
I'll take one front bumper, 6"inches wide would do..

Great looking build
Nice and clean Fab work..
Great Videos too..

Nice work.. :)

Excellent build and amazing detail and fabrication. Only advice...now that you're on the forum...bring us along for the next build. Seeing this build unfold in one post is like having all the fireworks going off in the first nine seconds! It needs to last longer! 8)

It's kinda like this video! Only watch the first 20 seconds...the rest is worthless.
