Harley's TCS X-Trail

also another q for you guys do the new chassis have the hole in them for the leafs?i have one of the first chassis plates on my rig now an wouldnt mind buying a new frame if it had the holes in it already!

MIKEY

The difference in thickness is to accomodate different vehicles with different weights. However right now the springs are not in production, if they do go into production I am sure we will do an update. On that same note, no the frames have not had a hole added to them to accomodate the leafs.

THEWHITEZOMBIE, the 1.5mm, 2.0mm, etc leaf spring numbers are the thickness of the spring. So the lower the number, the "softer" the spring and the more flex you will get. As Harley stated, the new frames do not have any holes in them to accommodate the leaf springs. Can you clarify this:

"ok an what would u recommend i drill both the springs an the frame side with an how?"

Thanks.

WoW

Wow
I just found this thread. I found it by mistake actually. This is amazing!
I love all of your trucks. I love them so much that I have already ordered the chassis. Needless to say I can wait till I get this. You guys have done a wonderful job, and I mean it! Keep up the good work!
Oh man ……………………….I’m speechless………………………..

Here is the latest update to my FJ. I have been working hard on my comp rig getting ready for Nationals but needed to spend some time on this for the trip as well. I finally got the new wheels on as well as the body. I still need to detail out the body, new grill, body line details, decals, etc.

Starting small is how they always start, just wait though, you will get addicted fast!

Here are some pics from Nats, the white balance got hit on my camera somehow and screwed up the hue of the pictures though :-(

ive been addicted for years. ive been through the electric buggys, monster trucks, nitro this and that, boats, but ive always been crawling everything i can. from modded truggys and t max's to the first wheely king 4x2( i bought two and made a 4x4) i had. although.... think its possible to put a nitro on the x trail chassis? im a machinist so i can make the mounts and everything. been making alot of my own parts.

i thought someone had made a production nitro crawler a while ago.. ill have to look into it though. i imagine the torque and weight would be an issue however. be nice if that could be over come.... oh well electric is less work and cheaper anyways........

k9500 youre thinking of the xtm xfactor. Crawling is all about lines, tire placement, and control,,, nitro cant do any of these as well as a electric. It would be a cool basher though

i got my chassis in. and built but im having problems with torque twist. i have a 55t motor on a 8t pinion and the stock spur gear(87t). the torque twist makes it hard to steer. im also using the stock shocks with the internal springs and 35 wt oil. im going to mount the lower links inside the chassis rails and shocks outside the rails. other than than what can i do to improve it but still have the articulation? and how can i improve the steering. i tried mounting the steering servo on the frame but had to much bump steer. going to stick with axle mount though. was thinking about a crossbrace going from the left side of the axle up the right chassis rail like on a full size truck.
