Harley's XR10 #AX50062

Ok - I'm going crazy trying to mount these Boss Claws onto these super narrow VP SSZ beadlocks. One side keeps popping out. What's the secret?

The wheels are a pretty standard 1" wide wheel, not very narrow. The one piece inner ring design takes a minute to mount correctly but I have never really had an issue with any of the tires I have mounted. I don't really have any "secrets" I guess. Just seat the outside bead first while pushing down on the inner ring and then tighten the beadlock ring with the 3 long screws provided. Then go back and add the other 3 screws.

USRCCA Nationals 2010

I had a great weekend in Disney this weekend. The rock was great but the company is always the reason I go. I can go drive my truck anywhere but seeing everyone and hanging out after the day’s events has concluded are what you really remember. The RCC crew was running all over the place and working their asses off. I hope the coverage was good for all of you that couldn't make it.

I compete Thursday in the LCQ to try and get into the event on Saturday. This would be the first time that I really ran the XR-10 hard. It's never a good idea to switch rigs like that before an event but I knew that going in. I had a couple issues on the day with the rig. I pulled the threads out of the rod ends when I was in a REALLY bad bind and really laying into the throttle trying to get out. I never had any issues with the gears. I did not make the big event, I wasn’t familiar enough with the truck and just didn’t drive well. I haven’t finished that low in a major event in a long time, but I needed to learn my rig better first.

I will say that in my opinion there is one immediate upgrade that everyone must do. As someone had commented on in this build already, the stock upper links are a little "rubbery". They will not break and catastrophically fail but they start to bend and fold and once that happens once it makes it easier and easier for it to happen again.

Also at Nationals...

Jim at VP was hard at work back in Cali working on the new knuckles for the XR-10. He was texting me the progress pictures as the day went on. He let me know that he would be sending a few sets out via next day air so we would have them to test. Steve Brown from VP tracked me down on Friday and handed me these amazing little pieces.

I installed them and ran them on Saturday. They really help keep the servo cool. I will be doing a far more indepth review soon 8)

The ones that got sent, never got fit tested :P

Meaning we had barely any time to check them out. We made some changes to them. I will have to get you a new set out. They were having trouble fitting 1" slw and 225 offsets. This is all corrected now. But other then a little geometry change to both arms. Should be the same knuckle.

Yup I heard that. They fit fine with the setup I was running and worked great. The revised versions will be great when I swap out to some SLW's.

These things are amazing pieces

Josh,

The new 1300 cells are in and kicking ass!! These little buggers are tough and they will out perform the old 1100's with out a doubt. Let me know how many you want.

Nice! I will be placing my order this week.

Jason - thanks for taking care of that exchange for me. I received the new packs just in time for my trip. MaxAmps customer service is the best!

The old 1100's where such a good deal on the site...I was going to order
more last week...Went to check my cart and they are all gone of the
website.....missed out on that deal.....

But I guess the 1300's are the same size but a little taller when sitting flat??

Have you tried the 800, 860 lipos they sell? How is the power, size and runtime?
Would be curios to cram something small in there and just change a Lipo after
each course...

I have ran both, but in my mini :ror: I currently run the 800 packs in my mini. I don't chase the light weight game too much at this point still, just try and keep things reasonable.

Would they work, yes. They wouldn't have the punch of the larger batteries, but would still get the job done. They would probably be better on 400 sized motors. They just aren't something I would recommend to most people.

Understand....that was my concern..Its not like the 1300 is that big of a lipo
anyways...And it packs a big punch for the size...thanks for the insight.

Have you broken any rod ends on the XR yet...? I finally had to switch to Jato
rod ends and tap everything to 4m..

I pulled a rod end out twice in the LCQ, I will likely go to 4mm or 8-32 at sometime soon.
