HH Cobalt Puller- Reborn page 35!

Re: HH Cobalt Puller- Discontinued briefly

If you look at what you linked it is a 454 motor. The motors that everybody is talking about that is briefly discontinued is the 540 motor. a 540 is the standard size motor most scale rigs run on.

Ok, thanks for the info. So these are the 400 can motors, almost the same size as the 390?

Re: HH Cobalt Puller- Discontinued briefly

I picked up a 7t puller from a buddy. He said the timing had been messed with.I dont see any marks on the can as a reference to go by.If anyone can help that would be much appreciated.Want to try this thing out but its getting way to hot.Too much timing i believe.I know i can simply back off the timing, but i want to know where it should be to start.

Re: HH Cobalt Puller- Discontinued briefly

Nuetral is with the brushes lined up exactly in the middle of the large window."thumbsup"

Re: HH Cobalt Puller- Discontinued briefly

What's the expected due date for the neo? Will this replace all the other pullers?

Re: HH Cobalt Puller- Discontinued

John,

I've got a 10t puller that has some burnt internals (not sure what). Is it possible to have this motor rebuilt? I understand they're discontinued, but not sure if a rebuild is possible? If so, I can mail it off to you. FWIW, I would be open to making it a 7t, 10t, or 14t if that makes things easier?

Thanks,
Tommy

I've also got a 10T that john recommended a rebuild on as well, and I'm wondering what needs to be done to rebuild it, the brushes are more than fine, the can and bearings are good, the arm's the only thing I don't know how to check for damage on that....

Re: HH Cobalt Puller- Discontinued

Hello guys,

at the second test drive of my new 7T Puller, the Motor stopped immediately and I thought that some parts of my tranny are broken.
The Tranny was in good condition but i can´t rotate the Motor.

I disassembled the Puller and couldn´t thrust my eyes.

look at this

How could that happen??
The motor temp was nearly cold.

Re: HH Cobalt Puller- Discontinued

I have a 7t puller that doesn't run right, It smells funny when it runs and some times you have to give it a little push to get going. So I was wondering if it was rebuilduble and if I could send it in to rebuild, also was wondering what the aerage cost to do this? thanks.

Re: HH Cobalt Puller- Discontinued

if you go onto Holmeshobbies.com there is a section for service. I actually sent him my 7T Puller yesterday :)

here's a link..
Holmes Hobbies / Holmes Bikes :: Service and Labor :: Cobalt Puller Brushed Motor Rebuild
the basic puller rebuild is $8 plus shipping back to you. Then if he finds other issues he will call and let you know cost..
ok i have a question about that do I buy that then send it in? Not relly sure how I have to do it? Do i need to include anything?

Re: HH Cobalt Puller- Discontinued

Yes, purchase the labor item and then send in the motor. Include what you think is wrong with the motor and any details that could help us out.

Re: HH Cobalt Puller- Discontinued

Coming along nicely actually. We will have some more proto armatures in a few weeks and I am going to be banging out the latest can design shortly. I'm hoping to have some of these at nats.

First ones probably won't have heatsinking cause I'll be too ancy
