The "no love from my LHS" thread got me wondering. Is there another hobby shop in Knoxville that stocks stuff for crawlers besides hobby town in Turkey Creek? My guess is no but I don't live in Ktown and Hobby Town is the only place I know to go.

Gadget Hobbies in Hariman. He has a lot of stuff for the axial and losi like stock replacement stuff and some upgrade parts. He has a ton of RC vehicles new and used and has a indoor oval race track next to the hobby shop. Open every day of the week even sunday and takes tradeins"thumbsup".

Harriman isn't too far from me, I live in Kodak. I may go check them out one day, thanks for the link.

Any other places?

performance sports and hobby in louisville, would be much closer than harriman. 865.379.8600 its on topside rd off of alcoa hwy, near pellissippi pkwy

I dont care for any of those places and chances are that if you need something they will have to order it. You know, if you order it yourself from some of the awesome sights out there, they will bring it to your door. I do go to hobbytown occasionally, but almost all of my stuff is ordered by me.

You want good parts for a crawler around here the best place to get them is your living room if you want a specific part you can forget driving to the store to get all my stuff is deliverd to me and 99.9 percent of the time its cheeper I wanted some big shocks for my clod and performance, gadget, and hobby town wanted more than wat I payed to have them deliverd to my door. Hit the web

Although ordering from a vendor on RCC is by far easier and faster most of the time, I still like to support the local shops. Personally, I hate shopping at Hobby Town. The guys that work in the Knoxville store are very proud of themselves and have a "know it all" attitude. Prices there are usually higher also. We usually go to Gadgets Hobbies every few months and get supplies and a few little parts we may need. Sometimes he has to order, but that's ok by me. He's a good guy and I like to help a little to keep his doors open.

Hahaha come on Reflections their not all bad, most if not all those guys are okay. I work there... Wait am I bad?... lol Some of the guys i guess can be a little up-ity at times. I have tried and tried to get crawler parts in but no matter how many times Ive put tekin crawler motors on the product request we never get them. Can't figure out why. Since I stopped working there full time and went to part time the crawler stuff has dwindled even more. They do keep Wraiths and the new Honcho in and they just started carrying RC4WD tires and a few parts for the Wraith and scale goodies. I'm sorry you've had some bad experiences going to HobbyTown. I just usually order everything which I know is inconvenient for you living in Sun Bright an all. Anyways thats my 2 cents. Take it easy buddy! Cant wait to have another comp at your place!!!!

This. I usually order my stuff too but I still like going and looking around at the hobby shop. I've never had a bad experience with Hobbytown. All the guys there have always been more than happy to help me out.

Wish I would've known a RCC member worked there. I'm sure I've dealt with you before though.

I know I've delt with you James. No idea you were on here. "thumbsup" Carrying some more Rc4wd products would bring me out that way for more than Traxxas bash parts or when I need a flight simulator fix . I am happy that they have started carrying alittle more (tires).

Come down next weekend I'll be there Sat and Sun! "thumbsup" They have the bogglers in 2.2, I bought the Claws in 2.2, their awesome!!!!! Dick Cepek Mud Country 1.9 and 2.2 Rok Locs. They can get the 2.2 and 1.9 Steelies in both wight and black. I'm gonna hound Gary about keeping them in stock since they only keep the black 2.2 Axial RockStars in stock. RC4WD tires need RC4WD rims, its just plain fact. I'll request the bulldog 9300 winches too. Im the only rick crawling guy there. The ONLY one. I'm all alone..... I'm hoping the farther down the road they get with RC4WD the more parts they'll carry.

I know why...... Cause crawlers and parts we use don't sell as much as bashing parts. In all honesty, I can understand why. The store can't buy up a bunch of inventory that'll sit on the shelf for a while. They are in the business to move parts. One way to help that...... Just say you or one of the employees there had a vendors star here on RCC. You would be able to advertise and promote your store and parts.

Personally, I don't have anything against anyone that works there. In the past, I've gotten an attitude from a couple guys in there. I'm not saying everyone in there is bad, just a couple bad experiences has drove me away from doing business there. Nothing personal.....

I always said we needed a good spell check on the forum, lol. I already have all those and then some. But, I am in need of some 1.9 steelies and might have a gift card around Christmas time. I'll be there in due time with card and a coupon in hand.

Your right about them being in the moving parts business and they mostly deal in Traxxas parts. Traxxas should hop on board and release some kind of scaler at least. The Summit doesn't count. I have one and would rather drive me 2.2 any day.

I havent takin a thing personally Reflections, I was just standing up for the guys and doing it in a way I didn't step on any toes. We are A-okay my friend. when are we going to have a comp at your place again? The last comp there was the best one I ever had the pleasure of competing in. Your rocks Rock!!! "thumbsup"

I will talk to Gary about maybe doing something like becoming a vendor here on RCC. It would allow access to more parts for the members. I'll push him on the idea and see what he says. "thumbsup"

THe best thing to do for the 1.9 is call ahead and special order them so their there when you get there. I am going to talk to Gary tomorrow about carrying them in 1.9 and 2.2 because the RC4WD tires don't like the bead of a 1 1/4" wide wheel. I just saw my spell check error. Bogglers eh... Its a newishnessleness tire...yea

An instore RCC member discount too![/QUOTE]

Well I can't promise an RCC discount. sorry ol' boy...

Not sure about a comp up here. I'm sure we'll do a comp up here soon. I've been so busy with other things, I've kinda stepped back from crawling some. The little extra time I've got, I've been workin on an XR10 build, me and my son are wanting to start running in the comps more as soon as we can.

If you guys decide to do the vendor deal with your shop, let me know if you have any questions about it. I'll be glad to help if I can.

Thanks so much Reflections!!! I didn't get a chance to speak with Gary about it today. We were so busy it was crazy. It might be after the New Year before it slows down enough to have a chat with him. I will let you know as soon as I know.

Are you and your son going to post a build thread on his XR10?
