Hobby Town Oshkosh build days

Thanks for all the well-wishing. I will be here in July, and back home in good ole' Wisconsin around 19 Sep 2011. I know its a long ways off, but I do come up twice a year on RnR, so maybe I can make something happen.

We went and did a little clean up on Friday at Hobby Town, but the slots car guys were cleaning the track so we didn't want to stir up to much dust.

The current plan (if it works for everyone) is to have our Tuesday night meeting in Oshkosh instead of Kaspers. If we get there early enough we can arrange the sections where they belong and get some test crawling in. Chris and I will probably head down there around 4:00 grab a bite to eat and if others are there start moving stuff around. I think for safety reasons and to keep my back in working order we need 3 or 4 people on each section. This will also help keep the legs under the sections.

Please post if you plan on showing up, and around what time so we can get this thing finished up. Thanks...

super, supermom, superkid all stopped by this afternoon and we headed down to oshkosh we moved all the sections we will need all the thunkers working on tuesday because we moved a few pieces several diferent times and we were like huh what the hell .Hope to see everyone there on tuesday

I'm up for it. We might need to get creative with bridges, logs, real rocks, ect to make the layout do-able is some areas. We kinda knew that during the design phase. Stinkyy suggested using the pre-split campfire wood they sell at most quickie marts to fill in between sections, also a good idea. Either way, we'll make it work "thumbsup"

Man! You never show up for our tuesday night crawls. Are you seeing another crawling group on the side? ;-)

I think he's gittin' his "crawl on" with someone else :lmao:.

Nice pics, Super . So what was your first impression? Too easy? Too hard? Need more obstacles/features?

I think we have enough tables that we can mix and match to make it as hard or easy as we want. I can say one thing for sure there is no lack of traction!"thumbsup"

So who's all planning to show up Tuesday? I'll try to be there as early as I can, not sure what time I'll wake up though (damned 3rd shift keeps me up till morning :x). Sounds like we need to do some brainstorming to get the layout to "flow", and hopefully get some playtime too!

I most likely wont be able to arrive till 6pm but if you want to stop by the shop Troy and pick up the air compressor and nail gun to attach the side skirts on the tables then when we get there we can arrange and be crawling by 6 30 that would be awesome let me know what you thunk about that we also need to make a flip stick to fetch the crawlers out of the center pieces.

I have a few rubber coated screw in hooks and some 1x1s. I could make up a quick fetch stick tonight.

How long would it need to be?

I would think 5 or 6 feet should do it, the sections are 4 feet by 4 feet and the most in one row are 4 I beleave.

Satan6907, were you the one interested in the 1.9 Flat Iron tires? If so, I'll try to remember to bring them along tonight. Brand new, never ran or mounted, $20 "thumbsup"

Troy.

no Troy, that was Max who was interested in the,. already have the 1.9 flats on m scx-10.

But he should be there tonight also.

Man! That shit is heavy!!! We have the sections moved, some may not be perfect but there are lots of crawlable lines. We will need to do a little clean up, place some ramps, install a bridge or two, maybe bring up some of the rocks from outside to bridge some gaps, but crawlin tonight was cool....
