I Hobby Comp info...

ABSOLUTE LAST CALL for late registration for the comp. I will submit final paper work on Friday afternoon. If you are coming to run on the course or drive in the comp, I need your names NO LATER THAN 3pm on Fri 10/9.

As a reminder, you cannot just walk off the street and expect to drive. You must have an exhibitors pass.

The only channels other than DSM that you could use would be:
AM & FM 61, 81, 83, & 86, and ch. 6 (Blue) for 27 MHz AM. These are also being used by the pullers and monster truck racers so your chances of finding one not being used are slim.
Frequencies are in short supply and have to be reserved well ahead of time for these shows. If someone is found to be using a channel that someone else reserved, it does not go over well with the show management.

If you only have 1 DSM, you may want to swap the reciever back & forth as you change trucks.

If push comes to shove, I might be able to swing a DX5e to use in the Losi by then, but I can't make any promises. Anybody know if the Spektrum ground recievers will work with their air radios? My WK and LMC are on 2.4 already and the E-Revo is on a synthisized 75fm radio, so I can always change over to an open frequency on that.

Joe, The surface Rx and air Rx use different radio priorities and are not compatible. You need to use their air to air.

Do you have a frequency checker, a device that let's you know which frequencies are being used? Without that you won't know which of the 30 channels on 75MHz are open or will remain open.

parking?

I don't know the area to well so where is the best spot for parking. I know there is a garage across the street but you have to pay. Let us know. Thanks

You pay to park everywhere down there... The train station up the street is either $3-$4 I cant remember. The garage across the street is either $11 or $35 for the week. If you park in the garage without a weekly pass and you move your car for any reason (lunch etc) your stuck with the $11 fee again. There is a chance a few of us can carpool from the hotel but, I will let you know that Wed night (if there is wifi)

per giantshow.com
Take the CTA blue line to River Road station! Parking is $5.00 or less at CTA Stations including River Road!

Just a heads up... our club booth is #2900. This is a place you can put your trucks out on display etc. (there will also be a display location at the course)

Better have someone keeping an eye on them, in this poor economy I think the chances of stuff walking away might be a bit higher this year. :?

Dave will be sitting there talking to people all day... When he needs a break either myself or one of the other guys will be there. The display at the comp location will be "out of arm reach"

Hey, All day? When will I get a chance to lose winning any prizes?

Will you let me at least start a comp before the Losi breaks?

Dave you don't have to win to get a prize. There all raffle prizes.

The cheapest parking would be at the River Road station. The parking accross the street around the hotel is more expensive, but more secure IMO. It is a bit of a hike from the River Road, about ten minutes slow walk or five minutes at a hustle.

John is correct. I usually take the Blue Line and walk but these are the daily rates at the CTA River Road Lot:

The first 14 hours is $5.00

14 to 18 hours is $8.00

18 to 24 hours is $12.00

The walk isn't too bad, about a third of a mile but that is to the front door. I do not know how much further it is to the loading dock.

loading dock is all the way around back... Im going to see if I can figure out a way to have people meet at the hotel and Ill take your gear to the back door so there is less vehicles but, that is not confirmed yet.

They can just call is and one of us van meet them at the dock to grab it shouldn't take up much dock time just grab and go
