Import Tuner fans??

but having to trail brake them deeeeep in to the corner to get any rotation is weird.

Yeah, with the Civic and the Z6 motor (127 hp stock) I put in and the huge Hoosier race slicks, you're almost flooring it the entire time on course, and coming into and half way through the corner you're braking, while still flooring it.

The car has more grip than power.

had a 2003 Evo VIII, sold it upgraded, got a 2010 Evo X MR. Love it still miss my VIII a little but had to get something the wife could drive if I get back in the military and ever get deployed. will have some pics up soon.

I miss scc so much, why did you remind me! its the only tuner rag that had any tech whatsoever. Love that eclipse though, looks real purty.

Yeah, I miss SCC too. I still remember the issue that signed their death warrant...

Duuuuuuuuude, did that car make it to Arkansas? Pretty cool.

I'm an old "big american V8 with pushrods" kind of car guy, but EVO's, WRX's and a few other rear wheel drive cars are interesting. Even Miatas, would love to have a Miata to autox. I just can't get into the wrong wheel drive thing. I've even autox's Accords, but having to trail brake them deeeeep in to the corner to get any rotation is weird.

I miss SCC as well. Good stuff.

It did, but didn't survive very long. The night of my yearly head gasket change (yay boost!) the oil pump seized, locked the belt, let the crank skip about 1/4 turn, bent half the valves in the head, and sent metal flakes all through the engine. It sat next to the house for nearly a year before I sold it off. I really hated to see it go...

ouch, man I can't even imagine what must of gone through your head as it happened... and those few seconds after, before reality sets in... damn.

Funny thing is that it sat idling in the garage for 30 minutes and did just fine. It was 2 blocks away on the test drive when it failed. Pushed the clutch in and it died. Tried to restart it and it chugged in an all too familiar way...

I've always been in imports, mainly Nissans. Nothing exotic but they were fun!

I've had quite a few Z cars, a '76 280Z, '81 280ZX, '82 280ZX GL and the last one was an '83 2+2 Turbo 5-speed. I've also had a s13 240SX LE HICAS and a 86.5 Hardbody King Cab 4x4.

I had a sweet "little old lady from Pasedena" 1986 Civic Si (first year!) with 60K miles in cherry condition. What a great car. Did some tasteful mods (intake, exhaust, wheels, springs). Got tired of every pimply kid in his mom's Cavalier/Neon/etc. with a coffee can exhaust trying to race me at stoplights.

I also had a BMW 318is E30 autocross car, but that became expensive and a long ride to the meets.

Now I drive a 4Runner soccer mom wagon..........

My last Turbo Z

I normally like simpler, older imports with stick shifts only. Although I wanna replace the 4Runner soon with maybe a WRX, Volvo T5R wagon or Legacy GT turbo wagon.

As soon as i can I'll post up a pic of my car, Its a 2011 Gun Metallic 370Z. I also owned a 1993 Ford Lightning (sold it a couple months ago with 50k on the odometer), a 1991 MR-2 turbo that was pushing 330hp at the wheels, and a 1993 MR-2 turbo that stayed mostly stock.

My ride for the past few years. When I got it it was loaded. Sold most of the bolt on stuff and got more than 3/4 of the $ I spent to buy it.
Now it only has an NSX intake and Mugen ECU for 14k rev.

Brother drives a seat Leon 1.8T reprogrammed for 230+hp with a set of KW variant 3. Killer ride to transport his 16mo daughter:lol:

Also had a boxster S, an Ibiza 1.8T, a fiat Cinquecento that was a real devil.

I look once a month or so for one of those. One of these days I'll find one and buy it, no matter the price.

That little Civic was a fun car - so light and tossable! That's something lost on newer Civics and, well, cars in general.

I should have kept it but another Z was calling at the time!

When I moved to Chicago, my girlfriend had an 80's Daytona and I had a 85 Ford Econoline van. I had bought it for my dogs when I lived in Pittsburgh but there was no way I was driving that behemoth in Chicago traffic, and forget about parking it! We sold them both, moved here in a U-Haul and I bought a 86' CRX DX.
Fun little car and really easy to find parking 8)

I had 2 boxers at the time, it was pretty funny to see them crouched down in the back... especially Cisco, he was a fit 85lbs.

I had 91 CRX Si with B16A1 blast to drive had light weight flywheel and stage 1 clutch.Body kit, wheels & lowered.Wish had a pic to share.
