Kaetwo's Tekin FX-R Review...

Perfect. I figured that would be the way to do it, but wanted to make sure before I toast a $70 receiver and a couple $125 servos.

Thanks for the help Rockcrawler. This forum kicks ass! I can see myself spending a lot of time here over the next few months reading through old threads.

No problem. "thumbsup" There is plenty of good reading on here. 8)

Also, it might be helpful if you get a servo y harness and shorten the wires when you get ready to install the BEC. That way you dont have to cut any servo wires.

Guys I cut off my on off switch and wired the two wires together and something must have shorted WHAT DO I DO????

would i have to pay if it wasnt under warranty and if so how much approx? sorry for so many questions im a newb.

EDIT What i meant was what would be the maximum i would have to pay?

If there is enough wire length on the harness the switch is very easy to replace. There is a small tab/pin that is bent over to hold it in. Simply straighten it out, remove the switch, rewire solder it to the harness, done.

If the wire is too short you're berst bet is to send it in. A cut wire/harness is most likely going to be warranted. However if we're feeling good about it, you never know...

Please bear with me with the noob questions ....
just hooked my FX-R up in my Eclipse ,checked all the connections that they are correct, calibrated esc correct but no matter what ,the motor runs in reverse unless i reverse the radio,+ is wired to +,- wired to -.....i don't mind having the radio reversed but is there something wrong somewhere ?? am i missing something or does it matter even ,lol ??....*edit*....just noticed my steering is backwards also....any suggestions??
....question #2...KEATWO mentioned about setting the reverse to instant and "dailing back the power of reverse with the radio endpoints"...I'm using the DX3r and can't seem to figure out how to do this....any help please ??
thanks again for the noob help

Some motors are going to run in reverse depending on how the trans is mounted. There are a few options you can do to fix it. You can reverse it on the radio, you can reverse the motor wires and depending on the motor, you might be able to turn the endbell 180 degrees.

Same thing with the steering, it depends on how it is mounted. Just reverse it on the radio. "thumbsup"

As for the reverse, just go to the "Travel" on the DX3R. If you want a slower reverse, hold a little reverse on the trigger so that it selects the right box. Then just scroll down on the wheel until it gets to the speed you want.

You can also turn the expo up and down on the radio. Doing this will change the throttle curve for forward or reverse and allow you to have a smoother start as in you would pull the trigger further back for less wheel speed.

thank you very much for the help...perfect explanation, as i do have the tranny reversed because of the dig ...thanks again for the help and explanations on the epa's....helped a ton

Hey guys, if any of you have the new software that works well with 35 turn motors could you send it to me. I'm trying to desperately get ready for novice WCC this weekend. Thanks! cr17300@yahoo.com

I'm thinking of renaming this thread to Rockcrawler's Tekin Help Thread.

:ror:

Here ya go. Can the B1R handle a 3S lipo with a 55 turn motor?

Start a B1R thread.

I know nothing about them.

Although, I would think that most of the higher class speed controls out now would handle a 55t on 3S. I would not go any lower without talking to Tekin though.
