Kyosho outlaw rampage pro

For 13.5t BL, 18tooth, or 19tooth instead of the provided 16 will do just fine.

For a20t brushed, I’d keep it at 18tooth. At least that gave the best performance without overheating, with the Kyosho G20 motor I tested. 19t will also work, but keep an eye on the temp.
for a 5 minute all out WOT sesh, 160 degrees F is okay for most brushless motors. just keep in mind both ESC and Motor temp should be within 20 degrees without one of them getting hotter than 160. i carry a temp gun whenever im racing or bashing.

good to know. im about to pop in an old AE 19turn with a hobbywing 1060.
as for the gearing... its the SPUR i should be worried about, not the pinion, correct? i have some spurs laying around but not sure the slipper or drive input shaft will be compatible.

i was just reading OSRC's build thread and the gears have me a little worried.

yeah im not sure about Losi but there is a known fix using an AE gear...

scroll about halfway down, credit to OSRC.

and a few pages back in this thread:
If you ever pull the trans apart, an Associated spur gear (ASC9653) fits fine and the difference in the transmission is night and day. Well, paired with a Robinson pinion anyway.. :)
i just typed it into the search at AE's website and it came up null.
here it is at A MAIN. now you have no excuse! (and i need to order one too lol)

thanks man. and thank you shinchu.

my lhs has primarily TLR parts. its just wjat most of us run at the track besides the AE group that orders online. after i get my MMT kits figured out, ill be picking one of these up to run in 13.5 stock sct.

how are the front arms? flimsy like the baja rey?

Could someone tell me the width of the rear axle from outside of the hexs?

sorry it took me so long but i busted out my machinist ruler last night and it looks about 8.26 inches from hex to hex.

and CM9000, wait for my vid to hit sometime tonight? during my unboxing i grab the front and rear, give it a good flex to see what the pan does.
just a little bit, just enough to help not break stuff but its not flimsy at all. really nice quality to this rig.

let me know if there is anything else you all want to see, my son is editing the vid and we might take some B roll or re-shoot some stuff. not too late to add some requests.

okay so i had mine on the bench last night. i didn't roll for any vid but i was tinkering with motors pinions and shocks.
the goods news is, shocks are filled, mounted, tires installed. she's on her own four feet!

bad news is, i tried fitting that old AE 19 turn brushed motor from my TC3, and with the supplied kyosho 16T pinon... it is a no-go. the pinion from kyosho has a base the same OD as the teeth on the gears. when you put the motor in, the base butts right up against the sides of the teeth on the spur gear. (teeth look OK on mine btw, fingers crossed)
i grabbed my spare Losi 16T and the base on that is even thicker. i cant get the pinion low enough on the motor shaft to stop the base from pushing against the side of the spur.

i even grabbed a secret weapon brushed motor of undisclosed turns supplied by Ledbetter racing... still a no-go.

might need a trip to the LHS or just bite the bullet and order a robinson racing 16T. i was hoping to at least test with a 16T between the 19 turn and secret weapon on a hobbywing 1060 to see where that lands me, temps vs. speed... but this pinion thing is kicking my butt already!

anyone else have this problem?

on a positive ending, those shocks are BUTTER smooth. i had some choices of TLR damper oils in 15, 35, or 45, but i decided on the included kyosho 350. feels good but i need to DRIVE IT!
